I think the holidays overwhelm most people but if you're used to living alone it can be awful lot to take in. If this is your time off work i hope you take extra steps to get well rested and recharged. Nothing like a holiday nap

Yeah I've been sleeping 12 hours a night since I got here so I've got the napping part down. I actually get some time off next week for New Years as well but it will be nice to go back into work for a bit before that. I think I also need a change in music....it's been all Christmas music which has a certain vibe. I just switched over to world music.....I can feel the change setting in already. Maybe that's all it was?

Merry Christmas everyone! I'm feeling more festive today.

I finally got some cleaning done and I feel relieved...I still have more to do but I'll get to it. Taking a break bc my back is killing me.

Still need to get a couple more presents...I do everything last minute, I swear...

Junkdna-- I've worked a lot of Christmas eves when I was in retail. Sorry you have to, but it's just life in retail...

Are you ok atypical?
Thanks for this!

Yeah my son works tonight. I'm not sure exactly, he's in the bathroom. But I think it's late.

It could be worse, you're right.

Ugh....I need to go shower and get ready to go get more presents. I'm probably going to get groceries too. It feels good getting out of that horrible depression...

xmas music can wear pretty thin on me too. its in all the shops for ages, tv, radio etc. Ive gotten by this year without hearing a ton of it and im pretty thankful. Theres a couple of songs that england loves this time of year and after the first week of them im past myself. in fact ive evaded most of the tv specials too. not feeling grinch like, just dont want overload. glad you found something to change your mood

Hi sunshine. in the past ive done most of my shopping last minute for the aforementioned reasons. I even like the crowds!
Thanks for this!

I agree that not everyone who posts here has to be schizophrenic, I mentioned that.

I'm just going on a conversation I had with my pdoc. He essentially said if you're psychotic you suffer from a psychotic disorder such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective, bipolar, etc. I believed him as he's a professor of psychiatry that specializes in psychosis, but he's also capable of bulls__t so I'll take it as it is.

all psychiatrists are capableof BS. the biggest problem i have with them is not telling the true side effects of meds and how they counteract with other meds

So I've been in a good mood all day...Then took a shower and my hair is falling out in clumps. It's from the depakote. It did this last time I was on it and I had to quit taking it. This time the pdoc in the hospital put me on some vitamins that are supposed to prevent it but their not. Ugh!!! I'm gonna have to go on a different mood stabalizer. I just hate having to bc depakote helps me tons. This completely sucks, not to mention my hair is everywhere. I normally wear it in a high bun so I haven't noticed...

See its so hard managing all these meds and then the side effects....I hate it!

It's been 3.5 years and though psychotic on a couple of occasions they have yet to place me into a category for a psychotic disorder but to be fair the meds really help me a lot and may be stopping that from happening.

Your pdoc may be an expert but he's an expert at something we understand at about 1% if that. Let's say there are 120 known mutations that can promote psychosis and you may have more than 1 of those 120. The number of combinations of those genes is huge and they may have different phenotypes thus your psychosis may be different than mine or anyone else's. I think of it as a range like height which is why I think they moved over to the sz spectrum concept. This is of course just the roughly 50% genetic factors with some other contribution being entirely environmental....of course some people throw in spiritual concepts etc. So you see what I'm saying about complexity. He may know the field but if the field is but a drop of water in the ocean what does he really know.

Well got the presents. Waiting for my son to get off work.

I'm just gonna have to find a mood stabilizer that will work without horrible side effects. Could be worse I guess...

I have absolutely no money at all left. I'm gonna have to really watch my smoking.

How's everyone tonight?
