It's 33 here. Last night though lost cable and internet. I was so worried about power, but thank God it stayed on.

I wonder if the cold weather is heading this way...

It's cold here too. I haven't been outside all day. School for my brother has been cancelled both today and tomorrow.

I was really hoping we could avoid winter this year...

Just went on a date. It went very good. We had dinner and a few drinks at a nice cozy bar. We kept each other company for four hours. It was a nice night. If I had to spend that night a thousand times over then I spent it right the first time. I was feeling panic attack symptoms at first but on the drive there I put on some Nick Drake and Sturgill Simpson to cool it down. I kept them in mind while my stomach churned and burned tonight. I mentioned how I might get my masters in social work working with the mentally ill. She mentioned how one of her good friends had a schizophrenic episode, and how it ran in her family. She went on about it for a time. I wonder what she would think of me if I told her I struggle with it myself...

Ah, the storms and stresses of life. Somethings you have to play close to your chest.

That's great. Glad it was a good date. I haven't really dated since that psychosis in 2011. I just feel so different. More fragile, and I'm afraid to tell ppl, hey I have bp disorder and PTSD.

I hope it works out for you.

Hi folks,

Just back from holiday yesterday & I think it's recharged my batteries somewhat.

I also had an appointment with my psychiatrist which was quite interesting. Talked about the difference between internal & external voices, which led to the conclusion mines are definitely external.

Also he said the usual period of time for drug-induced psychosis to disappear is 3 months, well I've been psychotic without taking drugs for 5 months now. He said the jury was still out though because there is some research appearing showing it might last much longer in some people & with successive occurrences but then again I might have a schizophreniform illness of some sort. Only time will tell.

Decided to stay at 10mg of meds. P-doc said I seem quite sensitive to meds so we might not want to 'chase' symptoms & just keep it all manageable which it currently is at the moment. All I have is really quiet voices & very occasional paranoia.

As for my restlessness, I might be starting on propranolol if it doesn't calm down in the next couple of weeks. That'd probably help with my anxiety too so I am going to research it to see what sort of side effects it can have to see if the benefit of using it is worth it.

Phew, long post... hope you are all doing well!!

Propranolol is a great med for that particular side effect. It works really well for me. I'm sensitive to meds too, if I'm taking any kind of AP I need something else to take for side effects.
