There's just something immature about the humor coming from a T who is supposed to be caring/healing....

I am so excited, I'm getting a new tattoo next month. It will be my 4th but my first one in color. I'm getting an autumn leaf (probably maple) with oranges and yellows and some blue and white snowflakes around it since Autumn and Winter are my favorite seasons

if i was seeing a new T and i walked in there and they had this poster up i would prob say something too. and it would judge the T bc of it. therapy offices are supposed to feel safe. that poster wouldnt make it safe for me. with that said my T has a twisted sense of humor sometimes (i dont mind it cuz i do too). like yesterday i texted him that the governor of NC declared a state of emergency before it even snowed and i said that was dramatic. he texted back and said they have histrionic personality disorder. i thought it was funny. but i also know my T is caring and compassionate and isnt judgemental. so i guess since i have a history with my T i know that hes not being mean or judgemental. idk if that makes sense.

They're addicting I'm taking advantage of having a tattoo shop down the road from me, it has a few other locations but this one is fairly new and it's cool because I live in a small rural town and can't get to any cities easily since I don't have a car. Plus, the owner is very well known and has good artists working for him

It's different because you know him but also it's about a disorder you don't have so you're both outsiders and you're not in the room with anyone with histrionic personality disorder, with the pooh poster its all encompassing, everyone has something on there that is a patient while the therapist is an outsider so it's a different dynamic.

yeah. you explained it well. he wouldnt say something like that to someone that did have that disorder.

junkdna has known her therapist for a long time.

ive only seen my therapist maybe 8 times including today out of the past 6 months. my old therapist wouldnt put that crap up. and she would maybe take it down if i said something about it and talked it out with her. but this therapist goes and says i need to find humor in myself and stop seeing everything as pessimistic.

like really?
so thats whats youve gotten from me out of me being in these sessions?
this is why i dont like her. maybe i do sound pessimistic now but i have a keen sense about therapists and MH professionals and i know when one is genuine and when one isnt like almost immediately. she MIGHT mean well but shes not a GOOD therapist. shes not even average good.

its at 12:30pm.

i suppose ill go at least once to see if i like it.
i think i know its not going to have as many people as the NAMI meetings. the NAMI meetings had about 30 people at the meeting every time. when i saw the room at this place there was only like maybe 7-10 seats.

Can you switch to a new one at the same clinic or would you have to leave the clinic?

i actually dont know if theres another one at this branch.
theres two branches in this county. the other one is a bit far too. but at the rate im seeing the therapist/psychiatrist i suppose i could go there. but the other branch is in a 2x bigger city/bigger population. ive been there before and the waiting room is always packed with people. i dont think id get any better service over there than i do here. same clinic. and i would bet theyd tell me to come back over to this branch for services rather than going to their branch. thats actually just my thought. i heard Dallas was even worse.

My favorite hen, Production, died yesterday after a short illness. She's the one in my profile picture. I'll miss her.

Thanks, jD and Sometimes. I'll miss this little girl a lot. She was very special. I saved her life twice - once from a dog attack and another time when she was losing a great deal of weight. We came to be pretty close friends. She trusted me to make her safe, and it hurts that I couldn't help her with this last illness.

She was a good bird.

I'm on 25mg seroquel 4x a day now. Hopefully that will keep my agitation at bay with the abilify and so I won't need to take an Olanzapine

Hey y'all. I'm feeling a bit sad today. I know I'm newish here and you guys have made me feel really welcome. I feel like sometimes I speak too quickly and insipid things come out. Then I feel totally bad, and feel like I should just not post sometimes. About to go meet my friend at church. Nervous.

Is this what humanity desires? People who are fun, supportive, warm, welcoming, charismatic, are able to converse without any problem etc? No wonder so many of us with ASD feel like aliens. We are too serious, literal and ****ing boring for anyone to actually pay attention to us.

No offense to anyone. I'm just frustrated with humanity and the secret NT social code.
