Hi I know recovery is a variable term.

i'll define it as when a persons sympthoms cease to be disabling and they can get on with their life as they see fit.

if your not at full recovery , what do you feel needs to be done to get that improvement you need , to get there

I doubt I'll ever be fully recovered. Abilify helps tremendously with the positive symptoms but not at all with the negative symptoms.
Thanks for this!

id say 6. because while i can be ok for long periods of time i also can go under for long periods of time. i need at least 1 thing right now and thats less isolation and more people to talk to that i like and trust in real life.

8/10 if my psychiatrist doesn't screw me over by taking my stimulant away or something.

I don't know how to answer that. 2? My hallucinations are 24/7 and no meds help at all. I just am learning to live unmedicated.

like 6 I don't hear voices anymore, but still have horrible insomnia. I have not gone back to work yet. I basically have been out of work for more than a year. As long as I am on meds I can't say I really am any more recovered. The job I am going back to will not be enough to live a comfortable life or even support myself really( it is the same one I had problems at and walked out of). TO be fully recovered I need to be off my meds. I need to be able to drive myself hopefully work on that in the next couple months. I will also need to be able to handle going to college to get a better job because I just can't live this way forever it is too limiting.
Thanks for this!

Yeah hopefully it will happen but if you don't get of meds , no big deal. You seem to function well , you work , etc
Thanks for this!

I would put myself at about a 3 or 4. My level of functioning just isn't all that great. I don't know what would improve that number, I'm doing all the right things, taking my meds, going to therapy, utilizing support groups for MI even though I haven't found a psychosis specific one yet, having open dialogues with my psychiatrist as much as possible, and so on but yeah my level of functioning according to my psychiatrist is "severely impaired"... Ugh...

On this scale I am not. Sad to say I am in the - 3 probably. To scared to get true help for fear of losing my boys. I can live with the voices its the visions that freak me out. When the sun starts to go down my anxiety of them coming out gets so bad. Then for them its game on.

Recovery? I'm not even on the scale. Haven't had any meds since the early 70's although my therapist keeps pushing them. Nope, this is just me now. The voices I can handle and the really scary sh** I see every now and then will go away. And, while I'm pretty sure people are plotting to kill me, they haven't yet so maybe I'm wrong...or just lucky. I just learned to live with it all, though I wouldn't recommend my choice to anyone else.

as i always say, you cant just rely on meds to stop audio/visual issues. i treat it as a technology and interact with it.

I'm a 9
I take care of three dogs full time. Make home made meals, and home made bake cakes, pies and cookies, etc. I have a blog on mental illness and stigma. I clean and grow plants. I also do yard work.
I need to work on hygiene, I need to work on negative symptoms and going out in public. I have panic attacks.
I also need to lose weight. I'm over weight. I could lose 55 pounds. I think being overweight is a problem in my recovery. I have eating disorder issues to deal with.
