Could it be your gall bladder? I'm sorry I don't remember what side the pain was on.

How are you doing, brother?
Im arite ta, but im not working on anything academically. i thought when i moved to a city with open libraries it would inspire me to start back up, but i've been a bit anxious about finding my way around. i hadnt expected that as it's never bothered me. Still, they are there when i'm ready and i'm slowly learning where things are at. At least i still get the urge to write occasionally, its not gone completely.

I am taking 37.5mg of Effexor. This dosage is known to be not even a sufficient dosage yet. It works enough for me though. I life how I can still feel down but its a regular depression to be felt.

I do have bad reactions to anti depressants though. Good observation!

I have never had ADHD as a child, teen, and or my adulthood until now, since 33 years old. It disappears usually around 12:30. Isn't that weird?

I didn't have this feeling on Lexapro as opposed to Effexor. But that's because of my dosage I bet. I'm walking on a tight rope here. I never want to feel nothing again, which is why I don't want to go up on my dosage. I would never finish this book if I were to feel like I did on Lexapro. Interesting, right?

Nothing will stop me unless my health halts it. That would be soul crushing. I'm taking my time. I really want to publish this book and have undergrads assigned to it. I've changed and added so much to it! All I need in order for me to write are libraries and cheap bars lol. I go to the library for hours until I get tired. Then I catch my 2nd wind we I have a couple beers. Even if this doesn't get published I will love it. Even thought it wont love me back

You should go to the library or some place outside your home. All I do is hit the stop button and start to watch Amazon Prime. I am guilty of taking half days at work just so I can get to the library or a bar to keep writing. It's like going to a gym. If you're there then you'll just get in the motions.

What are you writing?
Thanks for this!

What are you writing?
Do you have a time frame for finishing it. I highly suggest you create a schedule that still allows for some backsliding and then aim to stick with it. Otherwise it could stretch on for some time and the longer its under pen the more chance there is for something serious to get in its way. Every book has a life of its own and sometimes, especially one's first, has to suffer some casualties in order to finish it. The greatest mistake writers make early in their career is thinking a work has to be perfect in order to finish it. After you've written one, you'll approach your next one in quite a different fashion and with a better eye for its nature.

I'm working, or should be working, on Thomas Aquinas' philosophy of science and technology. I spent five years translating his works and organising the translations into notes for chapters. I only need to work up a scholarly apparatus for each chapter, historiographies and the like. the hard work is essentially finished and its resting as double length monograph atm. I loved writing my thesis, but my god this pushed me into ecstasy! It would be a shame if i didnt finish it, for one thing i still have my next book in mind already!
Thanks for this!

Hey guys hope you're all well
Been to the beach today with bf, family and the dogs. Had a nice day. I'm feeling well the last couple of days and it's been really nice. Shows I don't need meds and they were the things making me different.
Healthy eating is going well, managed to lose 4lbs in two weeks. It's the first time in years that I've lost weight through healthy means rather than not eating. I feel really good for doing it properly
Thanks for this!

X-ray wouldn't show anything. But yeah, they'll do a physical exam I think.

Best to be safe though.

Neil,
I must admit, Aristotle almost took my breath away. I worked on him for over 2 months. Separating, condensing, condensing again and then add the dialogue. I think this will take me a year to finish I bet. Nothing is hard from now on. it's mostly of my own creativity, and quotes here and there. The only real obstacle is how do I Make the protagonist hit on suffering. It's like he has to go to the depths of the underworld only to rise again ever stronger. I already wrote most of the ending. Here goes nothing!

Aristotle is very satisfying alright. Aquinas is credited with bringing his works to the attention of the West as his works were lost to the Latin West for centuries when people stopped reading ancient Greek. You sound like the end is within sight and you are bearing down on it. thats great! As we all know, suffering is a slippery slope, i dont think you need the reverse of a deus ex machina to plunge your protagonist into despair. I would rather read about his or her slow, mental fall and recovery of course!

That totally reminded me...

I was out walking today & went through my usual park. Since we've had like really heavy rain over the past couple of weeks some parts of the park have like collected water in huge "puddles" that completely cover the path & go onto the grass.

Anyway, they are frozen over at the moment & I saw this lady throw something on the middle of a big one for her puppy. This puppy shot off onto the ice & proceeded to skate/slide about with it's paws all pointing out. It forgot about whatever was thrown & was clearly just having a lot of fun discovering ice! Was really cute/amusing!

^ Just thought I'd chime in. I hate philosophy. We did a lot for Jurisprudence. Bunch of boring nonsense that had absolutely no practical use if you ask me.

Apparently my Mum has just gone to hospital with my Grandma. She (my Grandma) has supposedly fallen over & they suspect she might have broken her hip...

You might remember me mentioning she was unwell over Christmas. She had a couple of falls then too at the care home but wasn't badly hurt, so it seems something is causing her to get these falls. My Mum did wonder if she was having more mini-strokes. I guess they'll find out at the hospital.

it would largely depend on how the works were presented to you. it doesnt sound like your profs did their job well if you werent tuned into what was relevant for you. then again you could be a heathen :P

Oh no, I assure you I'm just a heathen. Although one of the professors was terrible.

I mean, it's sort of like the history of thinking behind law, but why should I care what somebody thought hundreds of years ago? All I care about is now. Not like it's going to be of any use in the future considering the finer philosophical points of law. Unless you know, you are going to lecture on it.

I suppose I might find some other types of philosophy interesting. But seriously, if I have to read any more about natural law. I'll probably kill someone. (then consider the philosophical implications on society of murdering someone until my brain explodes, or I die from boredom... probably the latter.)

Sorry to hear about your grandmother...

It is very much the history of thinking that underpins law. i can understand how not all law students would be interested in that, in the same way that not all medical students are interested in the history of medicine. Like you say, its not relevant what we thought certain illnesses were and how they were treated hundreds of years ago. But at least you know now how law develops and what underpins it, even if that wasnt your finest hour at uni. Surely though you must have liked Hobbes and Rousseau and the development of the social contract?
Thanks for this!
