I have been under a lot of stress lately. A few days ago I started getting mouth ulcers. I gargled with hydrogen peroxide and solved the mouth ulcers, but now I am fighting off a flu virus apparently.

So, anyway, in the evenings I see people just out of the corner of my eye. For example, I kept seeing my grandmother in the next room. When I turn directly, I can see that I was seeing random clutter. Then when I look away, my grandmother is there again. I know it is simply an illusion, but it is a little unnerving.

I had a brief psychotic disorder several years ago, so I worry about a repeat.

I would be concerned yes but like you said it could be because of the flu. Usually when something like this happens I contact my pdoc directly and let them make a decision about whether to change meds or what else I can do...

Dont know the exact definition , id generally view it as real phenomenon being interpreted in two or more different ways(usually in unrelated or even opposing ways). Not necessarily bad.

I see a therapist every week, so I will mention it to her if this continues. It seems to happen at night, so I suspect it is related to being tired. I have never had this problem before this week, so it concerns me.

Try not to worry too much----it might not be a big deal at all, any kind of stress can increase hallucinations and so does night so I suspect its the same for illusions.
