I'm not sure if these are tactile hallucinations but sometimes i feel like there are bugs crawling on my arms or legs. Each time i look and there is nothing on there. And also sometimes i feel like there is someone touching me from behind and i look and there is noone behind me. I haven't told my pdoc about this. Does anyone else experience something like this? Is it worth mentioning to my pdoc?

I have no idea what it is, sorry. I don't think about it very much. Whatever it is doesn't seem to be life threatening, so I haven't brought it up to the doctor. And I don't say that to be rude, it's just what I think. Sometimes I get freaked out by it, but if I'm getting bug bites I think it's just as well that I can't see any bugs because that would an extreme freak out, since I'm very phobic of bugs.

So, if there are bugs, I'd just rather not know. That probably makes me a coward but I'm extremely phobic.

Around 6 months ago there was a bed bug guy who came and examined my bed and everything for bed bugs because I think the person upstairs brought in bed bugs somehow. I have had that feeling of bugs on my skin from before that, though.

It's very unlikely that I brought any in because I didn't leave my apartment much in the past few years.
Thanks for this!

I've had a variety of tactile hallucinations at times when I've been worse.

The fisrt I ever had was feeling as though I had a drop of water on me for a second, but then when I checked there was no wetness. Happened a few times.

I've had a creeping sensation along my scalp at night... hard to describe, not quite like bugs, not quite static but in between. Probably the most persistent one for me... went on for a couple of weeks.

Also felt like I walked into a spiders web once but I was in the middle of the room & there can't have been anything there since I walked past it like 10 seconds earlier.

The most disturbing though, similarly to you probably, was the feeling of someone putting their hand or whatever on my shoulder from behind but no-one being there. That was a one off for me though.

I think it can be hard to know what is just a strange sensation & what is a tactile hallucination. Sometimes meds can cause strange sensations but it's unusual.

Your p-doc is the only one that can really guess what's going on. Generally unless these are distressing to you, they aren't the most serious of symptoms though... just a bit strange. Having said that, even small things can sometimes be indicative of a return of symptoms, so I always think it's worth bring up anything out of the ordinary.

I do get these sensations/hallucinations from time to time, I'll feel someone playing with my hair, I've felt something trying to rip myself out of my body (I know doesn't make sense, buy that is what I felt), I've felt bugs crawling all over and biting me. I've felt something/someone cutting into my wrist or behind my knees, and idk what else, that's all I can remember off the top of my head. Idk if they really are hallucinations, I can't really tell you, but yes I've had similar sensations before.

I've had the body ripping hallucination many times as well, accompanied by seeing claws ripping me apart. Then I get a sense of vertigo, and it all goes away. So yes, it does make sense. That was one of the first hallucinations I got when I first started developing sz.

For me it isn't claws, it feels like a hand is reaching in through the top of my head, and trying to yank me out of my body through the top of my head. And it can be like a sucking sensation like a vacume hose sometimes too. Right now as I type this something/someone is rubbing my head/hair, I'm alone in my room laying on my bed...

Mine feels like I'm being ripped through my chest or stomach. It's a mixture of a sucking, ripping, and gnashing sensation.

See mine is a bit different, mostly a pulling, and sucking sensation at the top of my head.

The only area that I've felt a ripping or stabbing sensation is either on my wrists or the back of my knees, something was trying to rip my veins open, that sensation had me nearly in tears the times it's happened, cause it felt weird and hurt. I don't get it much of as bad now that I'm on meds, so that's good...
