My voices say that they are people observing or who are actually the Police, and that they are investigating me for an alleged incident that involved a fatality. I am scared out of my mind, because sometimes they say that it is a corrupt investigation and they are setting me up. It must be if auditory hallucinations are involved. I 'overheard' that they were monitoring one of my email accounts, so In response, I have been sending suggestive and leading emails trying to let them know that I am aware of what they are doing. I know that they are hallucinations and cannot be true, but I get scared anyway. I have tried to contact the Police though their website but I get no reply. I would be grateful to hear any suggestions that others might have that will help me to feel less stressed. Thanks in advance.

What worked for me was finally coming to the realization that they are not real and that my own brain is creating them.

Stop paying any attention to them. Let go of them.

Mindfulness exercises help. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps a lot. Get that text book and read it. It helped me so much.

I have attacks of paranoia, too, and in my delusions I think I can hear heavy boots tramping on the stairs up to my apartment, as a police SWAT team moves into position to take me out. This has happened only a few times, but I share with you the paranoia that corrupt cops are setting up false evidence to send me to prison. Or that the cops are going to shoot my friends, etc. All this becomes quite stressful sometimes.

In your case, it sounds like you need to try some medication, or CBT (cognitive behavioral training) techniques. It can't hurt to try, and they might help reduce your symptoms or get rid of them entirely. Worst thing you can do is just holding the course, because obviously the situation isn't getting better on its own...

Yeeeessssss..... Police for you the Feds for me! At one point I thought they had put cameras in the trees looking into my windows. I thought the stars were there drones surrounding me. Even though I now know that these sounds and ideas are a figment of my imagination, i still have tendency of believing it. I wish you well!

This kind of delusion is very difficult to break through and overcome. I sympathize with your struggle and hope you feel comfort soon.
