Hello All,

Some of you may already know me. But anyway I just wanted to introduce myself to this board. I have been around PC for a few years now. I was originally diagnosed Bipolar 1 and held that dx for many years, recently though things took a turn and I started experiencing psychosis outside of mood episodes that would not go away. This has been going on for a few months now. With this said I had been working with my pdoc on a regular basis who started noting that and other symptoms I was having until ultimately I landed the dx of Schizoaffective, Bipolar type.

I am still learning about this new dx I'm not the most familiar with it. Anyways I just wanted to get a message up introducing myself. If you have any questions or anything I should know feel free to comment.

Thanks!

Hi.

I also had my diagnosis changed from bipolar to schizoaffective. I've found there's not huge amounts of information online but found this book to be comprehensive https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/18499...AFL&ref=plSrch it's not as big as the self help books you can get for bipolar but it has good descriptions and some tips on self management

It's good that you have been in active treatment with a PDoc. I too am scitzoaffective bipolar type. With out my antipsychotic meds I am in chronic psychosis. Although it took me a while to accept that my reality was scewed and I was truly hallucinating. The medication has helped me so much. Have you been struggling with psychosis? Did your doc start you on antipsychotic? Wishing you the best!

Thank you for your reply. I have experienced these two voices that have a running commentary of these things going on in my life. I also have paranoia towards my neighbor who I know is spying on me. I have been taking Abilify Maintena Injections for about 4 months now. Although my PDoc mentioned changing it in a couple of weeks since I am still showing symptoms. I have never felt so scared and alone until recently.
