Blue_Bird, I'm so sorry you're struggling like this. I couldn't imagine having to live without my cat, when we were young. I was so lucky she was a healthy cat. I couldn't always buy cat food so I'd give her an egg, or American cheese, stuff like that. I can't imagine having to live without her. I am sending you mega hugs. You've had such a hard time. You shouldn't have to give up your cats. Can you get anymore money from extra benefits? Roll Call 95~

Despite the insight I was hearing a lot of voices last night before bed...it always sucks when it sounds like a crowd trying to sleep. ><

Maybe you should consider calling them about just how good you are feeling all of a sudden.

Thank you. Congrats on your first Roll Call
i think being a single parent would be better for me, because i noticed when i get into relationships i get bored of people easily and i dont want to have a relationship with the baby's father (at least, no more than just friends) and then get bored of him after the baby is born and then feel trapped.

oh! yes, i didnt know this was your first roll call, cog! congrats!

@bluebird - have you tried contacting a local ASPCA for cat food assistance? They can sometimes offer this.
I would think you'd be eligible for a housing voucher that lowers your rent, especially if you've ever been homeless. Ask your case manager. There will be a wait time, but its a possibility.
Could you work a few hours a week? It wouldn't effect your benefits, and it might be just enough income to help you keep your cats.
I would be dead many times over without my pets. You should do what's right for you, of course, but i hope you can find a way to keep them.
Thanks for this!

In order to get government assistance they require you to find the father and get child support first...
.im not sure that ssi would be impacted but if you wanted other gov assistance for the child they would go after him. This is something you need to check into....

Also according to my pdoc pregnancy destabilizes people there is all sorts of hormonal crap that makes you less stable not more.

I would talk to day tripper about this....I think he got worse due to an AD, you don't want to end up feeling worse, they won't let you stay on ADs alone if thy make you manic.

I have periods where I only sleep 30mins-2hrs for a couple of months and get up around 8am. Then periods where I sleep around 4 hrs but really broken from around 4-11am, with a day or two of 6hrs every so often. And now for the last couple of nights I'm getting about 6hrs, falling asleep earlier about 2:30-3:30am and waking around 10am. On olanzapine I was sleeping 12+hrs, but no other med helped me sleep normally, except low dose amitriptyline 10-30mg a night worked for a while but then stopped. I'm just used to it now, I guess. And I prefer it to sleeping excessively on olanzapine or mirtazapine or high dose quetiapine (25-100mg that I see people use for sleep did nothing for me).

I never had any weirdo side effects. It either worked and i slept, or it didn't, and i was awake. No "hangover"either, which is good.
I don't think 5mg is the limit, but I will check the BNF and get back to you. Zolpidem/Ambien didn't help me and make me see these shadow demons swoop at me all night until I eventually passed out. It was terrifying! Never again!

Still waiting. ....and waiting....
On Thurs my wife and i met with the transplant team. ....I'll just go with long story short: we're waiting on the final answer, but we pretty much know what its going to be. She's approved for transplant, but on hold. She'll (we'll) have to get some more things in order before she gets a green light for transplant. This is what we expect to hear back.
For me as a donor: I'm still getting set up. I might get completely rejected outright for my mental health history, even before my medical history gets vetted. Or i might be able to get listed as "high risk," which means potential swap donors could pass on me. I don't know yet.
....and i really really really hate not knowing
I hope you know for certain soon

is this smart? i am 22 and i feel like i am ready to be a mom
Babies are a lot of work and you need a good support system. I really believe in the saying "it takes a village to raise a child" especially if you have health issues going on. If you don't want him involved, how supportive would your parents and extended family be? How would you manage pregnancy and breastfeeding wrt your medication? How would you manage financially and where would you live? I understand wanting a family, I do too, but for me, it's just not practical right now and I wouldn't want to do it alone. You need to have a good think about this and talk to your family and see what's best for you. 22 is still young so there's no rush, biologically speaking

Gr3tta - I checked the BNF and the dose for zolpidem is 5-10mg. Nothing about gender differences. They recommend 5mg to start with, for the elderly and those with liver or kidney impairment, but no reason you couldn't try 10mg if you wanted. So idk why they won't give you 10mg.

It is contraindicated in psychosis and shouldn't be used for more than 2weeks because it's addictive, so personally I would recommend a long term sleep solution like a low dose antidepressant rather than an addictive benzo or Z-drug. 10-30mg amitriptyline helped me for a while, or there's 70mg lofepramine, or 50mg trazadone off the top of my head.

I hope you can find something that helps
