I appreciate it and I can agree. Especially if someone wants a diagnosis that’s their right. I just don’t like uncertainty I would prefer an answer.

Looks like there's going to be a funny show on SYFY about a Curmudgeon cop having hallucinations of a insanely happy cartoon pony. HAHAHAHA It's called Happy. I want to watch it when it comes out this December.

If you'd ever been turned down for medical care, insurance, housing, education, a job, or other things you truly needed based on your diagnosis, you might feel differently.
@ newtus, based on what you've shared here, you've never been in a situation where your basic needs aren't met. That is not the case for many mental health recipients.
I do not speak just from my own personal experience, although i am including my personal experiences, and my wife's. I am employed by a mental health case management agency and i see these scenarios happen in real by the hundreds.
I do not discourage anyone from seeking care, but rathe r encourage them to be informed on the full impact that diagnosis has. I do not believe it is right for it to have negative impact, but it does impact negatively, none the less.

I am sorry for that. That was my initial reaction and I apologized earlier.

But i have been turned down for a job a few years ago because of that. So i actually know what you are talking about plus i have researched it quite a lot.

I’m sorry for being upset. I cried a bit and I feel better.

Just disappointed. I’ll wait to see what my regular doctor says. Maybe he can give me some good advice or news.

Sorry guys for freaking out.

There's a rare book sale on craigslist. Books that are worth hundreds of dollars are selling for $40 bucks each! You best believe I'm going to buy at least 5 books! I love to haggle! I have one book that I bought for a penny that has the price tag of $290 bucks currently. I have a bunch of collectables before rare books was really a thing on amazon.

I'd be interested in finding out what I have. I'd have to go off my meds though and see if I still have psychosis since I no longer am manic or depressive. I have a feeling I would go back into psychosis. Which would mean I'm Schizoaffective.
What matters is if you got the meds right. Everybody's illness is different. One person's schizophrenia is different from the next person with schizophrenia.

I use to play video games a lot. Probably too much, even though some were good for the soul like a book sometimes. It's a form of escapism usually, like all scifi and fantasy. The world can be depressing but when you're inside a game things seem a lot brighter. Maybe the both of you could play a game together. Does he have a cheap video game system?

Lol its ok.

He said he was sorry and he called me. Its hard for me to be mad at him. I told him from the beginning that i would be very needy of his time and he said he had no problem with it.

I hope you don't think i reacted negatively to what you said. I understand wanting a diagnosis, i really do. I just wish someone had warned me me about the fall out.
I had NO intent to make you feel bad, and i really hope i didn't.
I hope you rest well and and will wake to a great morning.

Oh no, you didn’t upset me or make me feel bad. I can see your point and I can see newtus’ point. It’s a complicated issue and I wish things in general were simpler and more clear cut.

It’s kind of like having a mole and getting it tested for cancer. On one hand you did your due diligence for your health and got the test, but come time to apply for mortgage insurance when they ask ‘have you been tested for cancer in the last 12 months’ you gotta say yes and it can mess up your chances on getting that insurance.

But it’s no worry I just gotta play things by ear. My doctor (who I like) thinks I’m on the bipolar spectrum and he believes me so I’ll take that.

Don’t sweat it.

The thing is. I went to the minute clinic for this reason last month. And it became and huge deal to the dr there. She called me at least 4 times that day. Idk what the deal was. I got my lexapro filled that way. And she said they can do it once a year

Avoid a mental health diagnosis as long as you can! Or let your pcp prescribe things that help under more "accepted" diagnosis such as depression or mood such and such. What really matters is that you get treatment that works for you. Don't let a diagnosis mess up something else you might need/want long term.
That goes for everyone - but obviously @cog especially
I see what you mean gretta. But a lot of the times insurances won't pay for scripts if you don't have a dx to justify taking that medication. So if I were just dx with depression I wouldn't be able to take my inVega

Pretty much. With trumps executive action... If you have a pre existing condition. You're better off dead
