IMO there are two parts to college, Intellectual enrichment and getting something that will allows you to get a job. Traditional unis do both because you’ve got four years but it’s quite possible to end up with a useless degree if you pick poorly. STEM is still a pretty solid choice I don’t know about the rest. Colleges tend to focus on getting a job without a lot of enrichment. So you’ll have to decide which works best for you right now....the bf changes the picture for you I think....

For me I could probably move and find a job that I could do in science but I’m changing fields in part to stay in my current location with the bf. Life is full of things like that. My old boss became a MD because her husband was going to med school and he was like you can either come with me or we’ll break up. She is one of the best doctors in the country now and was president of the AGA. Random chance, she could have run her families country store instead.

I find that it’s still hard for me to understand what you guys saying when you talk about serious issues like college, work, or mental health system. I think my English is okay for daily conversation but it won’t be enough to get a job there. Thinking about getting an English course when I can afford it.

I have a bachelor degree in Politics. I don’t think I want a work that relates to it though..

Still just being able to say you have a bachelors will open some doors, even secretaries seem to need a bachelors now....

Hehe thank you. The specific major was Foreign Affairs, I had a prophet dream back then thinking that I could help people in my country have a better life by working for the foreign ministry but then I had my psychotic break. Always want to work for an NGO or something but I think that dream is too high. Now I just want a job that pays the bills and find my other ways to help people.

No you could be a receptionist, it’s just my friend just has an associates and had a hard time finding secretarial jobs....she couldn’t get past HR.

I cried a little at work today. In front of my boss. I got upset for stupid reasons and I couldn’t help it. So embarrassing.

But in retrospect it made me feel better. Released some tension and anxiety.

I’m tired. I slept until 8 but slept poorly. I think I was cold or something. I hope tonight will be better. It’s really cold but I added another blanket so I think I should be okay.

I question whether dentists are sociopaths. Who wants a job where you are feared for a living? You have to really not give a flying **** about people as you drill a hole through their nerve. Something about dentists are off... I'm on to all of you!
