North Carolina has every season, not a lot of show in the eastern part of the state. Except just recently there was kinda a freak storm there.

The only thing is the humidity.

You can also check Wilmington if you like the coast

Charlotte is a nice city but there is major crime problems. And traffic issues

My sister lives in Durham where duke and chapel hill are. Durham is pretty cool. It's just flat though, no mountains. Raleigh I haven't been to much but it's the major city near Durham. Greensboro is nice, mainly a college town for UNCG.

Seems you're looking more at the piedmont area

If you visit I strongly suggest stopping in Asheville though

Yeah I’m trying to avoid the ridiculous housing, I’ve got that here. Asheville I know is supposed to be awesome though. I’m not sure how to drive in the mountains though and I’m kinda weak on driving. I expect my driving will get better over time though as I explore, it’s just hard to drive here at all.

Yeah I think I’ve ruled out Charlotte as well...for how big it is it doesn’t have a lot of the arts and attractions I’m looking for.

Greensboro has a lot of what I’m looking for centrally located so I can take trips to various state parks, the zoo (asheboro) or even the major cities. They also have their own ballet company. I’ve just never been there so I wasn’t sure if it was ok because the housing was super cheap.

My sister is thinking of moving to Raleigh though and it would be nice to be somewhere near her.

Ok question....of the triad area which is nicest Winston Salem, high point or Greensboro?

Idk my friend basically said we could go visit in person but I’ve got to work out the details. I basically just texted her and was like want to go to NC in the next three months?

Greensboro definitely. It has that kinda eclectic feel of Asheville, not as much though. Like I said the university of North Carolina at Greensboro is there and Anywhere you find one of those unc schools is gonna be a little more eclectic because of the college kid population. As far as I know the crime isn't that bad. The low housing prices reflect much of NC...outside of Asheville and Charlotte. And now Boone.

But usually within 30 min of driving you'll hit the rural areas . Which is where the confederate flag toting conservative Trump lovers reside

However it is where the best scenery is

Also if you wanna talk politics

Nc is a swing state but leans mostly red. We just finally got out under the thumb of the corrupt Pat McCrory. NC has one of the worst pay rates for teachers. The tax is 7%. If you're lucky to live in a duke energy monopoly area, you'll be paying for the clean up of their coal ash dumping.

Cool super cool Roll Call 114. Well believe it or not the whole state outside Chicago is trump supporters here so it’s like this tiny area of Blue in a sea of red, we outnumber them but we are all crushed in one tiny area. And you have to drive to Wisconsin for nature.

I would recommend becoming familiar with the areas in Greensboro so you can know which areas are nice/safe and which ones to avoid. As I'm sure you know, everywhere has that "bad area"

Yes the problem is I live in a good area about 2 miles from a bad area now so we are getting car jacking etc over here. I’d probably rely on a realtor to set me straight on the good/bad areas but I imagine you can tell by the housing prices too. And there are crime stats on the realtor sites now.

Good morning/afternoon everyone. How are things going today?

I'm okay. Really seriously considering that voice surgery. It has its risks, but I would love to have a higher pitch to work with my voice. As it is I am right on the edge of an androgynous voice at a pitch of 145Hz. This surgery on average raises patch by approximately 70Hz, which would easily push me into a more natural female voice range. Add in voice therapy prior to surgery and afterwards, I could have very good results. The hardest part is after surgery for a month it is important to not speak, whisper, cough, sing, eat solid foods, etc...it will be a tough recovery, but worth it. Add in a tracheal shave, and that would change the resonance too.

I feel bad. So I was invited to a gaming session with a few people at my friends place. I cried off going using being sick yesterday as an excuse but that's a lie. It's just my anxiety really. I feel really nervous about being around a group where I only know one person.

He sort of gave me a get out of jail free card saying I could just come later if I change my mind. I think I should go. I want to just damn anxiety.

I hate lying and being flaky, that's never who I was. Just damn stupid brains fault.

You know it's strange. I think my anxiety has been at such low levels in general recently that I'm almost not going back to what I learned from therapy. Just out of practice. If that makes sense.

I think I'll head over at 7pm after my dinner. Gives me a few hours to compose myself. In reality I know it probably won't be as bad as I think. I'm sure I'll have fun.

I know you dont want to be flaky, but self care is important too. If you feel like you need to take time off from that situation, i say do it. Is it possible to reschedule a gaming session?

Be kind to yourself

Have you tried cbt? It can help, it will never completely go away though.

Thanks.

He only organises like one a month or something and I've already missed one so I really should go.

I think it's probably be better to push out my comfort zone than give in to my fears.

He's one of only a couple of friends I have nearby so I don't want to make a name for myself bailing out of things.

I just messaged my friend saying "I'm feeling better" and will go after my dinner. I'm going no matter what now. My excuse is out the window.

Damn, Tapatalk keeps crashing. Wrote a post and it disappeared in a crash.

Not much to say. Wish I could go back to sleep. My friend is behind with work so he's not coming. I get to fill my tank later. ZSG.

Good morning everyone. I’m having a rough day. I think my kitty is on her way out. She’s not been doing well. And one of my dogs isn’t feeling well either. These vet bills are going to kill me. I just feel so bad for them. I’ve had my kitty for 17 years but I’m not ready. My dog isn’t eating, well she ate this morning because I gave her venison.
Ugh. I don’t know. What I do know is I’m dealing with all this without the help of Ativan.
I slept okay until my dog started barking at the cats.

I'm so sorry about your sick/aged cat and dog. This is the hard part of having pets.
