If you have any questions let me know and I'll read it with you, or you can go into the froum on PC called crazy philosophy that's at the bottom of listed forums of user created forums on pc.. Only 3 people actually post in there but I think we all have a take on it. I took 2 months to slowly read the republic and lay out every metaphor, allegory, example, argument with multiple sources, my copy is very much what was meant to be my teacher's copy that I made myself. Anything you need help with I'd love to help. |

Good 0and bad news on my rare collectible version that is a leatherbound edition from Franklin Library. The good is that it came and is one of the most beautiful books I have, and the bad is that it says Faust on the side, BUT it's not the entire story. There are two parts to faust and this just have part one. wtf is up with that? The editor made a pamphlet to go along with the book and tried to discredit part two as inferior. The climax is in part two, the whole epic ending that wraps everything up is in part two, faust teaching Helen of Troy how to write poetry is in part two, the eternal feminine is in part two, the old couple that worship the old gods are in part two. :/
The first part is basically the tragedy of Gretchen which helped me cope with my psychosis and my shame I felt because of what I put my professors through. :/ It's good, but it's just half the story. If a book says Faust on it it should have the entire story. Pathetic. :/ |

I finally got my leatherbound version of Goethe's Faust I wanted for so very long. It's in old English which is interesting. The translation is very nice, it's the only other major translation I haven't read yet. I'm relieved that it also has numbered lines so when I write in it.
My roommate was floored when I told her I was preprared to annotate it. She thinks that depreciates it, but I want my annotated hardcovers to be past done in the family. My great grandmother passed down one of her books to me and her handwriting is all over it. I love that persional touch. Also, you really do need a guide to understand a lot of the books I annotate. |

I just finished “ The Rise And Fall Of Dinosaurs “ by Steve Brusatte. Right up there with Robert Bakker’s “ The Dinosaur Heresies “
Brusatte takes it further than Bakker, breaking it down to a more understandable book for the layman. I also just finished “ Don’t Be A Jerk” by Brad Warner. It’s a good translation of Zen Master Dogen. I usually have a couple books on the fire at a time. My current read is Kristen Britain “ Mirror Sight”

Her books are great. I had heard a lot about her in my groups when I was in the day program. I read her book Women Food and God the other day, it was wonderful!

I just finished reading “Don’t Be a Jerk” by Brad Warner. A modern translation of Zen Master Dogen’s Buddhist teachings from 750-800 years ago... And still relevant today.
Very, very good, if that’s your kind of thing. I’m still working on “Mirror Sight” by Kristen Britain. It’s very good just a lot of pages, and I keep getting distracted!

Has anybody read the Last of the Mohicans? It looks interesting. My step father was a brilliant guy and I remember he had a VHS recording of the movie. Maybe I'll bit torrent the movie and see if it's worth reading.

I'm still reading "Under the Dome" by Stephen King. It's just taking me long because my focus hasn't been the best lately.
Also reading a few different manga books and I'm picking up a book called "Rocks & Minerals" at the library today because I want to learn more about them.

I finally finished Under the Dome a couple days ago. Moving on to The Only Pirate at the Party by Lindsey Stirling. I have read it before but I'd like to read it again. I have an autographed copy with my name in it ❤️ I find her inspiring as she's an amazing violinist and I used to play violin. I'd like to take it up again. And she struggled with an eating disorder too.
