I had to drop out my last semester because of my disorders. I am taking all of the same classes this semester and I have already hit my limit of days that I can miss and still pass. I am stressed out due to being a single mom of two children under three and school and my disorders. I am on scholastic and finacial aid probation so if I get dropped from any of my classes or not make a certain GPA then I can't go back next semester. I am having problems with motivation and even getting to school on time due to the fatigue from my disorders. So, does anyone have any suggestions to help me pass this semester so I can continue school and do right by my kids.

Is there free therapy/counseling at your school? Then maybe you can get some advice there. Also, I don't know how comfortable you are with sharing about your disabilities, but it is possible if you talk to some professors that they might be willing to work with you.....I was a professor for a number of years, and I'd like to think that I would have tried to help in some way. Of course, now I am disabled myself....Best wishes, dear one! Please keep in touch.

I agree with Payne1; talking to my profs over the years has been the biggest help to get through. Talk to them. Most are very understanding. If you have any medical or mental health documentation that you can take in with you when you talk with them, get notes from your providers that you are being seen by them, that can be to your benefit as well.
The other thing is, I don't know how many hours you are taking but I found some times taking fewer hours has helped me to get through and to balance everything else that is going on. That way I am not so spread out, my attention is not so divided on so many things at once, and easier to get to fewer classes. There is not a refund at this point, but it may still be in the drop period where there is a grade of a "W" or "Q" so it does not impact your standing. Check with the registrar's office and your advisor FIRST to see if lightening your load is an option to consider. Hang in there. ![]() |
