Hey everyone, how are you all doing today? I have a massive massive problem with studying. I just can't seem to do it..willingly or consistently. I've tried everything, even failing hard doesn't seem to scare me. It's like I don't care but I do..know what I mean? Making myself study is so painful! I know I'm hardworking but I can't sit down and learn even though I want to.

No subjects at all appeal to you? I assume you're finding other things more fun?

Have you talked to a school counselor about this problem?

I'm in the Same situation. Some people like to sit down and study. Even for the rest of their lives. Some people don't.

When I was a kid I always studied well because if I didn't, I couldn't go outside. Try rewarding yourself. You may be like myself with self defeating personality disorder where I fail by not trying or even on purpose to the point where I set myself low personal standards and fail to achieve them.. It's sad. If you want to succeed in life, think positively. (helping others and not helping myself is also a part of it..)
Thanks for this!

Yes, I also like the idea of rewarding yourself. What would work as a reward for you?

Anyway you could make studying a bit fun? At least you can try reading what you're learning out loud, making a game of it, coming up with funny ways to remember lists, such as a funny memory to remember a definition or a funny saying to help cue your memory for a list of items. Medical students do that kind of thing. For example, to remember the 12 cranial nerves in order, the classic acrostic is "On old Olympus' towering tops, a fat-assed girl vended snowy hops"!

I'm doing o.k. today, thanks.

Did you just get out of high school? It's getting to that point where you need to grasp your own desires and willingness so it's hard, I've been there. Iv'e been pressured and told what to do by others, I was unhappy where I was, I didn't do well and had to get back up again , this time by myself

It takes time to know what you want and without school/classes to hand you your goals (weekly, daily..) it's hard to get rolling and motivated at first. What if you find your long-term goal (ultimate career) without looking so much into subjects
