Sometimes you own your stuff, and sometimes your stuff owns you. It's a delicate balancing act.

Well I finally took a bath and now I'm ready to clean. The problem is it really hurts my back.

So, so far I got my bedding in the washer. That killed my back, from bending. So I took some ibuprofen and a couple muscle relaxers. If I can at least get some of my room and bathroom clean and clean out litter boxes I'll be happy. This house is a disaster....But I'm trying not to beat up on myself too much. I've been struggling mentally and it hurts to clean so it just sucks...

Wish me luck.

So got litter boxes cleaned. Made bed, my cats are loving the fresh new bed. I'm doing another load of laundry. Picked up garbage in living room and kitchen. Cleaned toilet.

Tomorrow I hope to-
Get living room vacuumed, this one's gonna hurt.
Get bedroom picked up and vacuumed.
That's all my back will be able to take. But if I can I'd like to get bathroom completely cleaned. And do dishes, ugh so much to do...
Thanks for this!

That's great progress, Sunshine! I hope tomorrow goes well too.

Readystop, that's awesome to hear how much you've made on that online yardsale!

Angelique, I bet you could find some furniture via Facebook. One of my friends made a post asking if anyone had a fridge and someone did - you never know!

I spent one day earlier this week trying to declutter/take care of things at the same time. That never goes very well since one task leads to a roadblock which leads to another roadblock and then I forget what I meant to do originally...

It hasn't been a great week in terms of housekeeping for me.

I've gotten nothing done. It's been extremely cold in my apartment and I've just stayed hunkered down under a blanket.

Well I didn't get much done today, just picked up garbage in bedroom and bathroom. I'm not looking forward to vacuuming...so I'm putting it off, lol. I know it's gonna really hurt my back.

Thanks hvert and everyone for the encouragement and support.

Lol, it is really hard to stay on track. I was really getting off track in my bedroom. I've got to get rid of old clothes that I'll probably never fit into again. I think some are so old they're out of style. Just distraction, distraction, lol.

Sunshine, you inspired me!! My back hurts too. So i peed all day (tried to stay low salt) and by night it was feeling better, so after i did the dishes and watched Blue Bloods (cmon, its still Tom Selleck!) I started sorting Mount Laundry, aka Brokeback Mountain - its two humps Finding pants i forgot i had - not a good sign!

Yeah, I love having this section on pc. It helps me get motivated...

Right on that you're getting some things done! Never was a big Tom Sellek fan, kinda before my time, lol. But brad Pitt that's a different story.

Well I got up early and did dishes.. I have a dishwasher but, some I had to soak and scrub first. Did all the pots and pans. Cleaned microwave. Taking a break and then I'm gonna scrub counter tops. Back is hurting so I took ibuprofen and baclofen, a muscle relaxer.

Goals for today-
Get living room and dining room vacuumed.
Get bedroom vacuumed.

Have to wait til like 11am to start that though, neighbors...
Thanks for this!

Well I got the counters scrubbed, vacuumed living room and hallway. Back is on fire. Taking a break. My carpet was so full of cat fur I had to empty the vacuum twice. But it is a small vacuum. I don't think I'm gonna worry about the dining room today. I need to do the my bedroom the most. Man, wish I had something stronger for the pain....grrrr.

Oh and I emptied and scrubbed out 2 litter boxes I'm not gonna use anymore. That was quite a job. And oh man those stank. I can't use them bc my cat tiger flings litter all over. So I use those tote things for litter boxes. But that was a really gross job, used pine sol...put in a fresh melt in my wax warmer, its starting to smell nice in here, yay!

I am down to half a hump of laundry to be sorted!! I have not seen the floor of my closet in a few years. This is freakin amazing. I feel like superwoman. It will take me a week to launder it all and put it away, but this is real progress.

So excited for you!

Yeah, I think I may be a little hypo, but it sure feels good coming out to my living room and kitchen and not needing to have socks on bc the floor feels so gross.

I need to sweep and mop the kitchen and both bathrooms. I'll get to it soon enough....

Stargazer, I use those totes for litterboxes too! One cat was sitting too close to the edge of the other kind and peeing on the floor.

Congrats on gaining access to the closet floor, hankster! That's awesome!

Angelique, I hope you're staying warm. I think this cold snap is supposed to end tomorrow?? It was really bitter yesterday.

I was pretty productive today in a general sense, not just a cleaning sense. I did dishes (but then filled the sink again doing a week's worth of cooking tonight), vacuumed, wiped down surfaces, started clearing off surfaces and dusting in the bedroom, and most importantly - started putting away stuff when I was done with it instead of just waiting for some magical time when I felt like putting the stuff away-- which will never come.

Hey, well I was outta sorts for a few days. Not sleeping again, long story, but yeah those totes work wonderfully for litter boxes. I'm wide awake tonight so I picked up some. But dishes are piling up...never ends.

Angelique, hope you've warmed up...

So i'm about halfway thru decluttering and cleaning the bathroom. Jewelry and makeup accumulates, catalogs and books accumulate - then there is no room for clean towels!!

Good job hankster!

So I finally slept about 5 hours.

Today's goals:
- Get my sons bedding washed and make his bed.
- Get dishes done
- Vacuum again, especially dining room.

I'm gonna get on my son to clean his bathroom, it's pretty disgusting. It's picked up, but the bath and tiles need to be scrubbed and the toilet and around the toilet...ewww.
Thanks for this!

Wow, so much progress! I have been more or less keeping up with dishes and laundry -- but there were some photos in the paper yesterday of an apartment taken over by squatters and it looked tidier than my house. Unbelievable!

I started to organize my cookbooks yesterday and will finish that today.

Well I got off track. Ended up washing pans, picking up all the garbage in my bathroom. Swept my bathroom, had shampoo stuck on the floor had to take a knife to get it up. Now I'm soaking some parts on the floor, than scrubbing time...Oh joy.

Cleaned litter boxes too. Back is hurting taking a break...

Yeah, like the shampoo, it was blue so quite a hassle to get off, lol. I'm still waiting for my son to wake up so I can get his bedding done.

So much to do, still need to do dishes and my kitchen floor, omg its going to take lots of scrubbing...But got bathroom floor mopped.

We're getting there....
