10-12 years ago I bought some cute, vintage glassware, some still in the original boxes. I've never used it. I thought I'd sell it some day, but I don't think it's even worth anything (there's a lot on eBay with no bids).

So... why haven't I thrown this out? I bought it at a junk shop, never used it, and I'm attached to it???? What is with that???
Thanks for this!

I always think someday I will pull them out and use them. My great aunt's china is in my grandmothers china cabinet which is blocked off because of my grandson. I own way too much stuff!!

But I will worry about it an other day. I am going up to Thunder Bay to see my daughter graduate university! I'm so proud of her and she made honour roll!! She signed a contract with the foundry she has been co-oping at and started there already. She is a Mechanical Engineer majoring in Foundry science. Next month we will be loading up the truck and taking things to her. She has a lot of stuff here still mostly cause it was too much to drag up to Thunder Bay.

I hope you have a great trip! I'm going through the china cabinet now, throwing out as much as I can bear to. Trying to decide what to do with some enamelware that probably belonged to my great grandparents. It's not in great condition, so I guess I will toss it...

Had a wonderful trip but it went too fast! The grad was wonderful and she was beautiful. I bought her a frame the matt has the university embossed in gold. Someday she will have an office and need to hang it.

Nest month we start dragging stuff north

Got tomato plants and strawberries in. Now in the yard we have 2 kinds of raspberries, 3 kinds of tomatoes, 4 kinds of strawberries, 2 pear trees and a quince. The quince tree isn't native to the area not even sure how it got into my yard but it is there now and producing fruit so we go with it.
My grandson would live on berries if we let him. Hopefully this well keep up with him.

What do you do with the quince? I like the flavor of the fruit in jelly, but it seems time consuming to put it to use. It looks like it will be a good strawberry year for us here, hope you get the same.

We filled up three recycling buckets and 8-10 large trash bags this week with dishes and clothes. The house actually looks worse as a result of the tossing, but it's good to get rid of stuff.

Year before last we marveled at their existence and tried to identify them. Last year we cooked a couple and tried one raw. No idea what will happen this year. Hubby has met someone at work who's mother use to make jelly with them he is talking about giving them to her. They really shouldn't be living here

Don't you hate when you are going throw things and you pull everything out. Makes the place looked tipped even when you know that you are getting somewhere.

I have been told we will be going up north in a few weeks so I have to start going through all my daughters stuff to figure out what the priority of stuff. She is sending a list. It means pulling everything out from under the stairs. What a mess that will be.

I'm so tired and really don't want to play right now. Did lab work the other day now have to wait on all the dr appointments to see what is up. On a plus note they didn't call about the ultrasound so it must just be a cyst. Good thing finding a lump in my arm pit was a little startling. Someday I hope to balance my hasimotos or invent a way for drs to have all the symptoms for a week or so I think they should have this experience just for a bit. Maybe they will stop saying stupid things then

I got my driver's license renewed today. The first time in 15 years! I hated to give up that picture! I had to bring all kinds of proof as to who I am and where I live. Birth certificate, W-2 forms, vehicle registrations forms, bank statements, Social Security Card...ye gads! I did good just finding all that stuff! I'm happy to report that I have put it all back where I found it and none of it is laying around. If I need it again anytime soon I can put my hands on it.

I've been a true slacker getting much done around the house. There's been stuff outside that has to be done and then we were dog/house sitting and then I went to Destin, Florida for a little vacation so not much has happened inside.

Renewing my license is on my list also, for the first time in many years! I'm annoyed that I have to go to the office with a bunch of proof of citizenship and residency, never had to do that before.

I've also been slacking. My boyfriend was injured and I had to take care of him/all house/yard stuff. Then I went out of town for a bit. Today is the first day that I've felt like addressing the house, but it's kind of overwhelming. All the stuff from my trip is sitting in the living room. I'm going away again next week, so it seems pointless to put it away now. I want to figure out a way of organizing it better before the next trip, too. That's on the list for today. Finding it very, very hard to get started, though.

My goal this week is to organize the apartment...again. But I have the time and it'll make me feel better.

I've been dedicating my day to laundry. We have hot sunny weather so the load I put out last night was dry by mid morning. Load I put out after that was dry by late afternoon. I have a load to go out and a load in the dryer. I have folded and put away 5 loads. Should be able to get a few more done before bed

I'm hoping to get some organization done and get more stuff boxed to go somewhere that is not here. It's very slow work but I haven't had a lot of co-operation so it is what it is. I have to get some sewing done this week too. I modified a pattern and made pj pants for my youngest. He has had them about a month and is home this week. So I need to know how he liked them and if he liked the fit. Other wise it's back to the drawing board or a new pattern.

Yesterday I decided to be kazy, but today I'm working on my bedroom. Still have a lot to do, clothes to sort and put away...only problem is is that I'm listening to podcasts and I take a break when one finishes...and as soon as I sit down the cat comes and falls asleep on my lap.

I'm feeling kind of discouraged. Today I uncovered a piece of art I bought in March 2015 sitting on a shelf. I was annoyed with myself for not having hung it up yet... and then I remembered some more art that bought over ten years ago that I still haven't done anything with. And some stuff I bought when I was abroad four years ago... and I have something on my to-do list from last year that I still haven't done. Yeah, definitely discouraged here.

I'm getting to the point where I want to toss it all out and start over. Maybe that's a good thing?

I bought a camera last year. The box is still hanging around. I picked up the box to throw it out and thought, wait, I should save this in case I want to sell the camera (which I don't like). Do you know how many times I have done this in the year since I bought the stupid thing?? Wish I had immediately returned it.

hvert I have been thinking similar things. Or as I try to call it sulking with hind sight. I'm trying to make a new to do list and start it from scratch. The same things are usually on it and until I can get some co-operation I will continue picking up after others and not getting much else done. It's frustrating!!

I got rid of some stuff yesterday but the friend I took it to returned a bunch of stuff she borrowed so no real gain. Now I have to remember where I pulled all those movies and tv shows from.

On the positive side my son likes the mods I made in the pj pants though he wants pockets in the next pair. So as soon as I clear off the cutting table I can get to work on those. Have a pattern for the grandson too. It's a guess cause he will not let me measure him.

Nope my day went sideways not much got done that was planned. The only thing I have done to the PJ's is confirm that I have to make up the pocket pattern piece.

I also spent hours looking for a chimo cap pattern for a friend. Sounds easy till you google it and find most of them are for a soft but heavy fabric that would be way too hot for summer. Finally find some that are free and made with a light weight fabric and download them. Then ask IT department (aka my son) why my computer doesn't talk to the printer. Son tried to find drivers and has promised he will figure it out tomorrow. We also have to get a bigger hard drive for this computer hopefully tomorrow.

Friday is Canada day so I have to make chocolate covered strawberries for the party. I took them 6 or 7 years ago and our host now says I can't come with out them. I don't take offense as he also tries to tell his wife that they are horrible and he will save her and the kids by eating them all.

Seems to me that puts me well into next week with nothing done. Friday will be fun though
Thanks for this!

So I wrote this and shut down my computer go up stairs and look at the kitchen. Oh yeah I said. I did manage to do something after all. The dishwasher got run I also washed other dishes and cleared the prep table that people keep dumping stuff on. So progress just not the stuff I wanted to get done.

Today on the other hand... never should have gone out traffic was crazy with people trying to get a head start on the long weekend. We got the hard drive and it is in my computer. Now if he could just get the printer to work I would stop bugging him. may have to put them on a flash drive and take them to hubby's computer. Someone will figure it out eventually.

I accomplished nothing this week of vacation, I think because myhusband kept saying that he was in the middle of a big organization of his own.

I started the week with a physical. I hadn't had one since 2011. I finished the week scheduling appointments like mammogram, bone density test, etc. It's a big deal that I accomplished this, I've put it off for long enough. I'll let it count as a major accomplishment for me!!!

Im still here!! I drano'd all my drains (3), and moved furniture around in the living area of my studio apartment so i will have a teensy bit more room to stretch and exercise. Plus it looks homier, and the sun wont be in my eyes. Meanwhile, just moving the furniture around and vacuuming was my exercise for today!

Yay for cleaning that counts as exercise and scheduling appointments! The house is surprisingly not bad at the moment. I've been trying to use those extra 5-10 minutes when I have nothing to do to pick up/wipe down.
