I can relate. I just went through and shredded every paycheck stub, income tax form, checking account statements, etc. from my parents. They had every single one going back into the late 1930's!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it?

Mindful, just do a little bit every day and it will get better and I promise it will make you feel a good sense of satisfaction!

Washed the kitchen & bathroom. Vacuumed just they entry & living room.

Lol looking for a box to put old paperwork in, to burn.

My sister cleaned out mom's paperwork awhile back. I guess kept everything as well.

It's mind numbing boring. I need tunes or tv to help. When I'm having a real hard time getting it done I will set the timer for 15 or 20 minutes then something fun for a bit then back to the grind. It's better than getting nothing done but darn it's slow that way.

Notz glad to hear you are on the mend!

Thanks Htoun, I'm doing well! I really got a lot done while I was out of work recuperating. Spouse would put a box by my chair and I would sort while I watched TV. To just go through that stuff without some of entertainment would've driven me crazy!

At least im feeling more energetic! I put new drawer pulls on my 2 kitchen drawers - it was very hard but i finally found a pull with movable posts, i have old metal cupboards in my tiny 50's apartment galley kitchen - so now i can hang a dishcloth on one, and a trashbag on the other (close to the sink and cutting board). Its a tiny improvement, but it makes life so much easier!

New drawer pulls is like the thrill of a snazzy new outfit!!!!! Finding the type of parts that worked in the 50's in our modern throw everything away society is not an easy task, good for you Unaluna!

I did a little sorting under the bathroom sink this morning. I found some old dried up makeup and tossed it without hesitation! Now I have more organized space under there. It's not completed but at least started.

I've been sulking... not a good use of time. The annual Book sale is coming up. I only have two boxes of books to donate. Have to drive them over before the 22nd so some things will leave.

My daughter is still looking for a house. So I still have the hope of getting her stuff out of her hopefully before my youngest son moves home... or failing that before winter comes again. Moving when it's -29C is horrid. Been there done that thinking about making the t-shirt

I've been working on some yard things that have been put off. Moved Nandinas from the front of the house to the back yard. I like them but they were getting too much sun and looking ugly. They'll be happier in the less sunny location. Planted boxwood, Dianthus, Euronymous, small Gardenia, Oxalis & something I don't know the name of in their place. It looks much nicer! Also planted some Azaleas on the other side in a tripod grouping at the corner of the house. Heavily mulched everything. It all looks better.

Inside I've been plugging along. Haven't done many boxes lately but that's mostly because spouse needs to do her boxes so I can get to others. She's not as enthusiastic as I am on making a neatness so who knows when that will get done. I have been organizing lots of things though. Have 2 bags of clothes ready at the door to go. Slowly but surely it's getting better!

Hey Notz my spouse isn't good at going throw his boxes either. Drives me to distraction sometimes I just do it myself but some of it is stuff he should really go through. I managed to get some weeding done but really not much outside yet. The weather is so weird not sure if it will hold don''t want to plant too early which up here means before May 24th.

I got my 2 boxes to the book sale... Sale starts tomorrow I will be going but not going crazy buying. I have been looking for an old cook book and some quilting books for years. This maybe when I find them. I've also been looking for the old home repair book for sewing machines. Time was you couldn't move without tripping over tons haven't seen them in years

Daughters still on track to be a home owner. Mortgage paper work is good just waiting on the building inspection. Cross your fingers!! On a side note asbestos house did a verbal to drop the price for her. Thankfully she said no that place was a pretty money pit it would take a lot to get it to move in condition. If everything is a go then her stuff will be moving out in June... about the time youngest moves back lol. At least he will not have bins of kitchen stuff in my basement not to mention the shelves and a dresser. I'm excited for as well as looking forward to cleaning out a bit of my place.

The inspection was good!! The same guy did it as did the asbestos house. He said this is a much better house than the last. This one is move in ready she will have to have the boiler looked at but it's newer than we thought. With a June 23 possession date she shouldn't have to worry about heat for a few months. I'm tempted to rent a trailer and deliver her stuff. But that would be mean and with an end in sight I can wait.

Okay, a little over a month since i last reported in.

Today i dusted, vacuumed, and rearranged the living / exercise area in my studio apartment. Hopefully it will be conducive to more exercising and less lolling. The rearranging was a workout in itself.

This giddiness is effecting my brain I have decided to rearrange our bedroom. Of course our bed frame is big and heavy not easy way to move it so stuff will have to go out of the room then in a strange Tetris move come back in a different order. I have taken out one large bag of clothes but have to go through more stuff to figure out just what all is in there. I am waiting till after we have her stuff out of our room to start the heavy lifting. Of course the bag that was removed is now in the front entrance but closer to being donated

Lol. My room isn't too bad just a shelf with stuff on it behind a dresser. Our spare room on the other hand has so much stuff in it that it feels like it is about 2 feet square. It has a queen size bed a loft bed 3 dressers 3 shelves and a desk. Not to mention the boxes. It's not a big room. Our youngest is moving home he is excited too. He has even measured so he can rearrange the room. Once we have her stuff out we will get rid of the loft bed frame and he will be able to change his mind without leaving the room.

It's been too long since I've checked in! I've been focused on losing weight and getting in shape. I still have too much clutter in the house, but we're both much better about being tidy (even if not the greatest). We gave away a treadmill we weren't using and even though it didn't take up that much space, the room feels so much bigger!

If I could finish one renovation project, I would be able to clear out a hall and another room that are currently packed to the brim with furniture from the room I started renovating in ... 2012??? Where does time go?

I so understand! We moved 5 years ago come August and still sleeping in the guest bedroom because the master still isn't cleared out. It's a little more complicated than the boxes in the way though. I'll explain when I get home from vacation.

First load out and at her new place. Hurray!!!! Really only took packed stuff a dresser and her bed. The room looks 100 times better. Now that there is room to move in there I will start packing the rest of it and and get it into the trailer for the next load. I'm sending my good dinning room set up. I haven't decided if I am giving it to her or loaning it but there is no room here. I am slowly getting stuff out of here.

My youngest who is moving home doesn't have nearly as much stuff. He even said that he would be getting rid of some stuff before for he moves home.

I know you're happy that's it's all happening! Hooray is right!

The vast majority of what's literally in my way of more decluttering are spouse's boxes that she has yet to do anything with. No amount of reasoning, demanding, threats, cajoling, begging, pleading or shaming move her. It's maddening!!!!!! Totally!

I hear you. There are a few boxes in the basement that I asked him to go through about 10 years ago. If I ever unearth them again I will do it myself. Can't be to important if he won't go through it. Our biggest problem is he is a stuffer. Instead of looking it over and figuring out what it is he just stuffs it some place. I go through it to see what it is and where it should go. It doesn't make for harmony. It's maddening.
