Wow, I am getting tempted to clean my bathroom! What is it about shampoo sticking on the floor?? Underneath my tub is always so grimy/sticky looking and I don't understand why.

Okay, off the computer, into the bathroom.

Hankster, are you using the Marie Kondo theories to clean your bathroom?

I just did mine. It's not sparkling, exactly, but it's less gross. The floor will be clean enough when it dries for me to get down on my knees with the scrub brush...

Now i forgot what they are!!

I will get down on my knees to scrub when i know i can get back up. Which means ive been exercising. Which means ive done laundry (havent yet, but some). Which means more showers. Etc etc etc!!!

No wait i remember - everything has its place. Yes, i have been doing that. And it feels like the bathroom welcomes me when i walk in. I was wondering why? But by marie kondo, that makes sense. I respect and honor it, and it respects and honors me. Thanks for reminding me.
Thanks for this!

Yeah, I don't get it either, lol. I had gunk stuck all along the outside of the tub. Soaked it with scrubbing bubbles then used a Mr clean magic eraser. It came up pretty easily that way.

Well yesterday I also did all my sons bedding. It was quite a job. I washed everything twice it had been awhile.

Vacuumed dining room and did some dishes, still need to finish those. And did about 3 loads of laundry. I was wore out, lol.

Today I'm going out with family, but tomorrow I hope to tackle the WHOLE kitchen.

I was gonna ask if anyone knows how to get deep set in soap scrum off. My son, who is 19 is going to clean out his shower, (hopefully, but I might end up doing it.) But I tested a small spot with scrubbing bubbles, (I let it soak) and then used the Mr clean magic eraser and it didn't budge. Anybody have any suggestions?

I'm thinking maybe borax?

Idk, but i do know that some products arent made for the new tubs. So it depends if its on ceramic tile or fiberglas or plastic or what. I want to get the bath & kitchen CLR but im afraid itll melt my tub and showerhead!

I use baking soda for a lot of stuff like that - I think it might be more gentle than borax, but it's still abrasive.

What I did in our old place was wet the surface of the shower and tub (not the glass though) and rubbed baking soda on, then let it set for awhile but not so long that it dried, then poured vinegar over and it worked great! I had to use an old toothbrush In some spots but it really worked well. For the glass I used scrubbing bubbles and it worked ok. In the new place I am trying to use a squeegee after showering to keep minerals from building up.

And for the shower head I have not tried this yet but I read that a good way to do it is to fill a Baggie with vinegar and place the shower head inside using a twist tie to secure, let soak over night and rinse in the am. It sounds like it would work really well.

Great thread

I really need to tidy up the living room now my step daughters are at school. I have found it extra hard keeping motivated since being laid off from my job

On top of the living room I aim to put a load of washing in, put away the dry clothes and hoover upstairs. I would like to get the walls on the stairway painted too, but do I have enough motivation for that????

Nice! I used that trick for my "extra" eye and lip pencils. I left out 2 or 3, then bundled up the rest in a pretty bag, but still accessible in the same area.

Goal today:

Get the kitchen completely clean. Do dishes, sweep floor, scrub counters, floor and appliances, clean out fridge, wash down walls and cupboards. Not looking forward to this.

Okay, my breaktime is over! I had a busy beginning of the week and no time to do anything, but the sink stayed clean (just a cookie sheet in it ) and the bathroom is still sparkly and i slept pretty much all day yesterday recuperating from stuff and cold weather, so back to it today. But like the other poster says, dont wanna wake up the neighbors. Plus its so warm in bed...

I've struggled with motivation too, latched on to a short burst of it just now and put some washing on, folded clothes away, washed up, had a tidy and hoover. Right now for a mug of hot chocolate and a toasted bun

My room is a huge mess, I trashed it looking everywhere for something. My cats are also throwing stuff around and knocking things over, I have no idea where to start

Okay i am trying to do my underpants drawer the japanese no clutter way. It means one extra fold in my underpants - left and right over center, then instead of just in half, i folded them in thirds if necessary. Then i stacked them on end instead of on top of each other. It does look so much better!! Altho i dont really know how they are going to stay on end as they get used up. I need bookends for my underpants! I'll have to check mari kondo's book, see how she says to handle it.
Thanks for this!

LOL, this is me.

I was doing okay but was like a whirlwind mess maker the past two days. I'm still trying to uncover my surfaces from that. Yesterday I bought a plastic tote filing cabinet and some hanging file folders to organize my seeds. I spent this morning doing that.

Hankster, I couldn't figure out what she was talking about with her folding methods. I need to google for pictures of what it's supposed to look like. It sure sounded more usable than cramming everything in and slowly squeezing the drawer shut

Whrn youre done loading your drawers, the clothes dont look like stacks of pancakes, they look like sleeves of cookies where the cookies are standing up on end, like oreos. You have one rounded edge showing per article of clothing.
