Yesterday I vacuumed the house and cleaned the bathroom including "mopping" the floor on my hands and knees. Very clean now!

I mistakenly bought a single roll of paper towels with dish soap embedded in them - wtf?? But they are good for scrubbing very grimy hidden places. Still it will probably last me the rest of my life!

Paper towels with dish soap?? I've never seen that!

I spent a lot of time cleaning yesterday. Dishes, vac, laundry... and two hours going through an over stuffed shelf full of DVDs and CDs. I threw out a lot, kind of wonder if I shouldn't throw out even more. I had about 150 blank cds (not DVDs)... not really practical in this day and age of huge files!

Wow you all are an inspiration. This last week I have been feeling so well that I blitzed on laundry, dishes, did some sewing, cleaned up my sewing area. Then yesterday I decided I was feeling well enough to garden. This year the jasmine will die! I talked my son into helping and we got about half the side garden done. Would have gone further but we snapped shovel. So off to home depot... soil was on sale and then I saw a footing for the fence I will have by the end of may. I may have to do it myself and it may end up looking like a dogs breakfast but it will be done! I did remember the shovel and a few other things I will be needing for all the gardening and repairing that will be happening over the next while. Only problem is now I'm feeling stiff and sore but still plugging along! I haven't felt this well in years. Trying to get everything done at once so it's all over the place as I run around doing everything. It's really weird according to my blood work I should be asleep. Not that I'm complaining just weird. I'll take well any day

Htoun, how do you grow jasmine way up here? Ive only seen it in california, where it was EVERYWHERE. It was truly heaven.

I have 3 weeks before the reinspection. I have finally recuperated physically from the last cancelled one two weeks ago, when i just got too tired. Right now i am about halfway thru washing the dishes. I like having them done before the weekend.

Yes, I am also curious about the jasmine!

I had something big to report, totally slipping my mind... oh! Unaluna, you inspired me. I 'loaned' the bicycle I haven't ridden in 3 years to a friend who is carless! More space in the basement!

I didn't think jasmine grew in Canada either. Then we moved down here and bought a house with it in the side garden. It really is a weed, if you don't stay on top of it it will take over! My hubby is allergic to it as well as at least one neighbour. While I was sick it took over the side garden came into the back yard and is trying to make it to the front garden. I was barely keeping up on inside and just didn't have the energy to even think of the outside. And it shows . But now I run around like a chicken with out a head trying to do it all. I can only wonder who is lying my specialist or my blood? I guess only time will tell.

My husband has been threatening to put up a fence for over a year it's a 6 foot run on the side. Our grandson lives with us and life would be easier if he couldn't escape the backyard in the half second it takes to look away. He is 2 1/2 so he can really run. His mother has mental health problems which is how I ended up here. My friends and family keep giving me advice that might work it we weren't also dealing with my health issues and hers. Or the heartless ones who wanted me to kick them out. Yeah a baby is a lot of work but he is really cute and angelic when he is sleeping.

Sorry I ramble some times

So... I spent the entire morning cleaning for an appointment with contractors that turned out to be disappointing On the bright side, I have a cleaner house.

Something that I think most of us here can relate to:

Grrrr, I lost my phone somewhere on my farm. It's not where I was mowing so I must have sat it down somewhere in the house. 2 hour span between having it & loosing it mostly spent mowing but was in the house before mowing. I am seriously working on the piles & places it could have fallen into. Good incentive to get busy cleaning

I felt very satisfied with myself after getting rid of the last batch of stuff I packed up. So much so I gave myself a little break! Then I got a cold and between that, work and life in general I've not done much.

What is screaming to be done right now is yard work. I've really let things go. The "wild" area in the back is a jungle and needs some serious attention but what's more pressing are the hedges around the front porch. They are gigantic! I've not pruned them in a good 2 years. They look terrible. I'm formulating a plan and told spouse she must help. She doesn't do much to help especially with yard work. This is a constant issue. *Sigh*

Grrrr Our dd was home and didn't take much of anything! She was muttering about all the cups she has. Well if she doesn't want them I will take them to a donation site. It would have been easier and cheaper for her to do the sorting here. We wouldn't have cart it all the way up north and she wouldn't have to figure out how she is getting it to donations as she doesn't have a car!

I swear I talk to myself around here sometimes.

Oh Notz, I sure understand that conflict between yard & house work. I have 2 field areas that need to be mowed constantly. Wild trees have come up & have taken over as I wasn't ok the last few years in the spring to get working on the yard before it got overgrown. We have these poke weeds here that I swear compete with the bean stock in Jack & the bean stock. They have taken over the side of my house & in 2 weeks are about 7ft tall.

If I work in the yard, inside the house is ignored. I am either too exhausted from outdoor work to even touch the inside of too focused on indoor to get outside. I need to clone myself into indoor & outdoor me. Then some volunteer work for myself is totally exhausting & nothing around the house gets done. I was so exhausted after all day volunteering with flower decorations at the horse park for the show this weekend then worked outside until after dark (10pm). I fell into bed without even bothering with food or shower until next morning.

House & yard work are exhausting.

You two sound like your in the same boat as me. Today it is raining so I don't have to figure out what will take priority on the list it's indoor stuff. No one has done anything so now I have to try and get the regular stuff done and a bit of the to-do list done while grandson is out. I'm getting really tired of everyone just assuming I have tones of time and would love to do... Yes I would have enjoyed seeing my daughters new place but this weekend has been booked for months.

Not yet, still trying to file boxes of papers & systematically trying to move boxes it might have fallen into. Years ago I lost a pair of prescription sun glasses (when still living with my H). Six months went by & it was time to give my dogs their shots so I got the box of shots out of the refrig, opened the box & there were my sun glasses in their case. I had bought the shots that day & laid them next to me on the front seat of my car & laid the sun glasses on top of the box. I never thought a box would eat sunglasses. I was so excited to find them. I'm sure the same thing will happen with my phone. Good thing is that the forced slow methodical cleaning & organizing my house is a good thing....it's about time I did it anyway.

Have to admit I'm still exhausted from all the volunteer work I did this weekend at the horse park so really moving slow today but it's nice to be sitting & emptying boxes of stuff needing filed & into my recycle buckets. Kitchen sink is clean & finally not fighting ants today & I had a huge pile of dark cloths needing washed from all the dirty work with mulch & flower decorating we did with the mud from all the rain.

I can actually see my computer desk for the first time in months. Woo hoo!!!! I throw the papers into a box then go sit on my bed & start filing into the plastic hanging filing boxed I bought at the beginning of the year. Recipes filed, knitting patterns filed, pieces of material boxed. I have a couple of clothing repairs to do before the lights go into the wash.

Cleaned out some old food out of the refrig & dumped the food out into my woods & seriously needed to dish wash the plastic containers it was in so got a load of dishes done.

I have an advanced ballroom dance class tonight but my body isn't feeling like going. Next Monday I will have more energy!!!! Maybe the rainy day hasn't helped my not wanting to go out to do anything either. Sometimes I like to do work that I can just sit down & do....this is one of those days.

notz hows the cold doing?

eskielover hows the phone hunting going?

My everything hurts! Saturday I found victims I mean volunteers and my new file cabinet was moved to the basement. Finished transferring everything last night, I even cleared out some of the files. Then today I decided to clean out a section of the yard. Moved everything away from the canoe, got my son to help move the canoe and moved the wood base it is resting on. Then pulled weeds dug up a tree pulled out some old concrete. Made my son pull out an old fence post. Raked it all put down landscaping fabric. Got my son back into the yard put back base and canoe. Filled 2 yard waste bags and a garbage can. Then a long hot shower. Now I am sitting here hopefully not getting too stiff. I really have to stop over doing it.

Recently subscribed to this thread to pick up some inspiration from you all.
So today... Scrubbed the kitchen floor (key word: scubbed). Now heading for bathroom floor. Our place is very small, so it's not as impressive as it might sound.
Now if I tackle the shower... THAT will be impressive.

Break over. Back to it.

The cold is on it's last leg, thanks for asking htoun! Welcome Innerzone!

This may sound weird but I didn't do any yard work today because next door had painters and carpenters show up. I just don't like being "on display" if you can understand that. When strangers are close by like that I get overly sensitive. It makes me feel vulnerable if that makes any sense.

Ive been working out trying to get in shape for some floor scrubbing. Getting down and doing it, not that bad; getting back up - very iffy! And that applies to both activities! Discovered today its easier to get up from a softish pad than a hard floor / carpet. Maybe i need a skateboard?? Like to kneel on? A short one, that would go all ways...

Some what unproductive day. I had to go pay for work on the truck stopped at a thrift store found a kids work bench with tools. He is outside playing with it still, so I think it was a good bye. Did my banking they made me get a new debt card with new numbers. It's more secure or so they say. Still have dishes and crap waiting but they aren't going anywhere so they can wait.

Grocery shopped after work, came home, put it up and even managed to do 2 hrs yardwork! I just made myself get out there in spite of the painter's next door.

Great job! I feel the same way some times and right now I'm trying to get work done at the side of the house so anyone can see. It really has to get done so I'm going to get back to it.

I actually got some dishes done last night too. Of course this means that laundry is piling up at an alarming rate!

Good job Notz & htoun!!!!

There are times I actually enjoy having lost my phone. I got all the dishes cleaned (not cooking again for awhile), I got 2 loads of laundry done, I hauled all the trash bags out to my truck on Friday. Saturday morning I dumped all the old food & weavely flour I found in my cupboard early spring out into the woods (hope it doesn't make any of the critter's sick). I hauled it to the dump Saturday morning. Dumped my whole truck bed of trash at the dump for only $6. A lot less expensive than trash pickup out here in the country. I managed to get there 4 minutes before they closed. LOL it took me all day Friday to load my truck & only 4 minutes to unload.....very therapeutic.

It's like I'm really getting work done without being interrupted by the phone all the time. I'm still looking for it, but what a blessing it feels to get so much work done. Sometimes I just need time alone to FOCUS & not having the phone is seriously achieving that. I will take in the other phone that I got from a friend & see about getting it set up if it's an unlocked phone. If I didn't have a few things that I seriously need the phone for, not sure I would bother though it's really nice to have smart phones, they still are a huge distraction.

Guess that's one thing I love about having my farm, there aren't any neighbor's around....only my neighbor's cow's to watch me do my yard work & work around my farm. #8 was such a friendly cow, but they were hauled off awhile ago & now I have another crew of cows to get to know. They aren't friendly like horses at least not the ones on my neighbor's farm.

Sometimes I get so overwhelmed by everything that needs done, I don't know where to start so I do nothing. Now I'm getting started it's a lot easier.
