My therapist would like me to start keeping a journal/log of my moods, diet, sleep, etc. so I can search for patterns and/or triggers of my anxiety and depression. I think it's a great idea, but in the past I've been terrible at sticking with keeping a journal. Does anyone have any tips to help me stay on track with journaling? I tend to do really well in the beginning and lose track of things pretty quickly.

my therapist wants me to keep journaling my anxiety too.whenever I am having an anxiety attack I write down until I see her next month for counseling . it is not hard at all .just get a notebook or you can get fancy and do what I do for my journaling get one those fancier books from the drug store or card shop . just put the date on the top and just write away . not hard at all . Diagnosis: Anxiety and depression meds : Cymbalta 60 mgs at night Vistaril 25 mgs 2 x daily for anxiety prn 50 mgs at night for insomnia

I'll be interested to read the responses to this question. I have the same problem. Keeping track of that stuff is dull (in my opinion.)
I tried apps - I thought that might be easier. It was, but I still only logged about 5 days before I stopped. |

Journaling helps me the most. It allows to to write down how I am feeling. Then I can review it for subtle changes such as mood changes. Since I am bipolar I can see if I am going into a depression or mania. I use one note (computer program) I am able to add or delete things that I can't if I keep a notebook. I also feel more secure on the computer so no one else can read my journal.
