Anyone want to share what new habits they're working on incorporating into their lives? or bad habits they're trying to break?
The current habits I'm working on include: Doing 10 sit-ups a day (I know this isn't much at all, I'm starting off slow because if I overdo at first I end up getting overwhelmed and not sticking with it. Trying to build consistency first. Cutting Back on caffeine: I'm a little crazy about coffee and need to slow down because it's affecting my sleep and worsening some of my anxiety. I'll be checking in until I get these ingrained into my life then I'll start working on more habits I want to acquire. Hope others join in __________________ R.I.P mom 8/6/55-1/15/16 “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.” -St. Francis of Assisi

I would like to drink more water. I know it seems simple and ludicrous but I do not like water- i just dont. I prefer to make crystal light or unsweetened iced tea or iced coffee. I can drink it down but I just dont care for it. I know it will help me with everything from my skin to my body's health and I need to drink more of it. Anyone wanna share tips on drinking more water when you dont really like it?

Have you tried seltzer water? There's also lots of things you can find online about infused water where you put in different pieces of fruit into it __________________ R.I.P mom 8/6/55-1/15/16 “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.” -St. Francis of Assisi

Did the 10 sit-ups today, as for caffeine I had 4 cups of coffee. That's actually good so far because I was drinking nearly 10 cups a day now to just make it through the rest of the day with water and herbal teas

Yes I love seltzer thats all the "soft drinks" we have in the house. Does that hydrate you the same way water will?

Also it doesn't have caffeine in it like regular sodas which can dehydrate you I think

I am quitting alcohol. I have realized it has a negative effect on me and will be stopping.

The only undeniably good thing about pure water is that it does not stain tooth enamel, unlike coffee and tea. If you want white teeth, then yes, it makes sense to try to learn to like water. How about Smart Water? It is much tastier than regular water - by a very large margin. Here is how I solve the tooth staining issue: I buy a big basket of strawberries, cut them up and freeze. Then I steep a bag of this green tea Kirkland Signature Green Tea, Sencha & Matcha Blend, 100 bags for literally less than a minute, just to barely color the boiling water , and discard. Then I add several slivers of frozen strawberries - and for myself, as I need a sweetener for tea, but you may not need it, stevia. Stevia is safe - you can look it up on the website of FDA. So it is a pleasant tasting, pleasant smelling drink, but unlike black tea, the color is ever so slight, and I do not think it would stain my tooth enamel as bad as tea or coffee. Do note that if you like iced coffee, it is good for you on many levels - say, coffee protects against diabetes and Parkinson's (for me it is super important since I have genetic predisposition to both). Very bad for tooth enamel, but good for other reasons. So your habits are not as nearly as bad as they might seem. __________________ Bipolar I w/Psychotic features Zyprexa Zydis 5 mg Gabapentin 1200 mg Melatonin 10 mg Levoxyl 75 mcg (because I took Lithium in the past) past medications: Depakote, Lamictal, Lithium, Seroquel, Trazodone, Risperdal, Cogentin, Remerol, Prozac, Amitriptyline, Ambien, Lorazepam, Klonopin, Saphris, Trileptal, Clozapine and Clozapine+Wellbutrin, Topamax |

Bad habits: internet addiction. Particularly self-image stuff and trying to look for positive reinforcement. It really messes with your head and can have you monitoring everything you do to try and seem perfect. No one is perfect. Bad sleep habits (purposely ruining the day by drinking caffeine and staying up until the next morning) and impulse spending.
Good habits: Cook more. I have all these recipes, and I know I can cook because I used to all the time in college. Something so I don't just eat ramen and potato chips. |
