Second brushing today. I have started doing things a little differently in preparation for my road drip in California/Oregon in October. I put my floss, orange toothpaste and one tongue scraper in my new hanging toiletry tote bag.
Stanford Blood Center - Donor Portal toiletry bag I also put two regular (manual) Dr Plotka toothbrushes in a special component for the toothbrushes which I keep unzipped. The scraper is in a zippered meshed component. I now do my dental care routines in the bathroom and use the timer on my phone. In the past I used the timer on the microwave in the kitchen. I also used to toss the used tongue scrapers (I have many) into the DW. But I won't have a DW on the trip. So I now wash the tongue scraper immediately upon use with dish soap and put it into the mesh compartment and next day it is dry. I need to stop by a drugstore and buy a travel size bottle of dish soap and put it into the hanging toiletry bag. I am making these changes to develop a new habit seamlessly, so that when I do go on the trip, it won't be jarring to me. |

I had a first tonight. I forgot that i had brushed my teeth when i sat down to do my nightly meds. So its like i took it for granted (and i had!).

Nice that your brushing has become automatic - that's great.
Got back on track last night and flossed. |

The appointment well well. The dentist said she liked my gums, especially the areas around my two implants.
Between plastic GUM picks and stimudent, she said that given my receding gums (from too much dental work in the past), she would go with plastic tools. Between waterpik and floss, either way. But basically she said that the routines I am doing at home are working and I should continue with them and that it is thanks to them that the mouth is in such a good state. |

I had some gum inflammation - i dont know what set it off, but geez it felt like abscesses and teeth too big for my mouth and my whole upper left jaw ached. So i flossed the life out of it and even brushed twice! and took ibuprophen for a few days and i think its better now. I hope ive learned my lesson.

Yeah i think i overused ibuprophen last year. I am being more cautious this year. I dont really do dairy anymore. I tend to binge on it. I mean even plain greek yogurt or nonfat cottage cheese. Milk tastes funny to me now, like on cereal? Like gamey. Whereas soymilk tastes grassy to me. There used to be huuuuuge soybean fields about a mile from where i grew up (Ford's!) and that was all you could smell in the summer. Its all built up now, stores, offices, homes.

yesterday was a good day. I flossed and brushed. I'm going to try really hard to keep the brushing going along with the flossing which seems to be a habit now.
