I am so glad to hear that!

I didn't do the 2nd brushing today. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day and I will do the 2nd brushing after donating blood.

Brushed during the day yesterday, but didn't manage to floss last night - too tired after work.

Had a lightheadness / low blood pressure episode after donating double platelets. Ended up needist to rest and eat salty pretzels and a cheese stick and take in liquids before I was allowed to leave the blood center. This is the first time it happens to me and I have been donating for several years. I hope it is a one time occurrence and not the beginning of a bad trend.

Came home tired but made myself do the 2nd brushing and now feel much better for it! My mouth feels refreshed and psychologically I feel better because I actually accomplished what I had set out to do.

I'm sorry donating platelets affected you negatively. I too hope it was a one off. Glad you still managed the second brushing.

Flossed yesterday.

Back to depression but today is mild. I hope to shake it and go to the office tomorrow. I also have an endocrinolist's intake tomorrow and in the evening, a personal training session. Will hopefully resume training after almost a month's hiatus caused by stuff both on the trainer's end and mine.

Managed a 2nd brushing just now and am happy to report that it made me feel better. Not just refreshed but more hopeful.

Grateful for this thread, btw.

I honestly think that managing the 2nd brushing last night was the positive change necessary to make me feel so much better that I got a productive day at work today.

just now, 2nd brushing. Personal training in 30 minutes. Feel a little sad but not to the point of depression. Will see how I fee after the training.

2nd brushing with the orange vanilla toothpaste today.

Splitimage, have you had a chance to try the new stannous fluoride toothpaste?

Tart Cherry Jam, yes I've tried the new toothpaste and I do like it, I just seem to have some kind of mental hurdle to brushing, kind of like when I first started flossing. I'm thinking of starting a new Tiny Habits, week long program to see if I can jump start the habit.

I have an appointment for a cleaning on Wed.. so I'm a bit anxious about what the hygienist will say. Brushing has been really erratic since my last cleaning, but I have flossed almost every day.

2nd brushing today. Now waiting 30 minutes before drinking electrolyte water during walking on treadmill.

It is interesting that the hurdle for you is brushing but you floss all right. For me flossing is a much more laborious, concentrated, difficult task.

I agree that flossing is more involved than brushing. I think what tipped the scale in its favour is ease of location. I can grab my floss and floss in my room, sitting on my bed with my legs stretched out whenever I feel like it. Brushing on the other hand means I have to get up, and carry my stuff down 2 floors to get to the bathroom. I know this isn't a really big deal, but I seem to view it as being more inconvenient.

Didn't floss last night.

Oh I certainly understand how that would make it much more involved.

It IS a big deal! Using the Tiny Habits' creator Fogg's behavior model, brushing is very difficult for you alongside the Ability axis. I understand how important such things are.

I did my 2nd brushing today, appreciating how easy I had made the logistical part for myself. I do the 2nd brushing in the kitchen. I have toothbrushes in a container right next to the kitchen sink and squeezed between that container and the wall behind the kitchen sink is my Orange Vanilla cream toothpaste. Convenient and also pleasant (the toothpaste leave a good aftertaste in the mouth). To time my brushing, I use the timer on the microwave right there in the kitchen. So it is super convenient, and still I sometimes do not do it because I cannot find time in the afternoon or evening when I am not thirsty or hungry and when I can brush and then wait 30 minutes without anything in the mouth. If I had to walk two floors to get to where I can brush, I am not sure I would be brushing even once, let alone twice a day.

I have this idea for you, Splitimage. Your computer, unlike your toothbrush in the bathroom 2 floors away, is always at your fingertips (computer or mobile device, that is). What if you post "I am going to go to the bathroom to brush my teeth" before you commit to doing that? Will it make it a little likelier than you would actually carry out your plan? And then if you do, post an update "walked to the bathroom and brushed".

remind me, when will your remodeling project be done?

2nd brushing today. Hungry now, but will wait for 30 minutes before eating. In the meantime, will start the dryer in the laundry room and will hang the clothes that do not go into the dryer.

That's an interesting idea Tart Cherry Jam, I'll definitely think about. The renovation of the upper bathroom was supposed to be completed this pat Fri., but the contractor hasn't been doing any work on it, so they're really behind. We don't have a clue as to when it will be finished.

I've signed up for the Tiny Habits program, and I've decide to make my target brushing time, after lunch. It's not as ideal as at night, but I figure I won't be as tired and so will hopefully be a bit more motivated to actually do it.

That being said, I did manage to both floss and brush yesterday.

No 2nd brushing today. Did not manage to find a time when I was not drinking liquids. But did a whole lot of exercise (walking on the treadmill) today and drank 1.5 l of electrolyte water while at it, which is a success.

I'm going to jokingly say half brushed yesterday. I started brushing and had finished my top teeth when my electric toothbrush lost power.

So back to it today. I'm finding the Tiny Habits email program helpful.

Dental appointment went well this morning. I had very little tarter buildup and they said my gums were healthy. There was some plaque buildup on my back teeth, and the hygienist did say that while I'm doing a great job with flossing I really need to make an effort with brushing and if I do that, then my mouth will be super healthy. So I guess now I need to focus on incorporating brushing into my routine.

The dentist did prescribe me a mouthwash to help with the itching I'm having in a few spots on my gums. He said he couldn't see any reason for my gums to be irritated as they're healthy, no sign of disease or infection, an healthy teeth. But I'm going to try the mouthwash and see if that helps.
