went to a family graduation party for a niece yesterday....one of my sister in laws saw my bandage on my inner arm and said really LOUD what did you do there on your arm and everyone looked my way....I lied and told her oh nothing I stratched it on some bushes we were trimming around the house...my daughter who was sitting with me knew I was lieing because she knows I cut....but she said nothing too...but my sister said let me look at it and by now my other sister in law who is a doctor came over and said yeah lets see maybe I can give you a prescribtion for something to put on it.....and I said NO it is ok and walk away.....awkward....wanted to die...I know they only meant well and wanted to help....but they do not know I am a cutter....so BAD......ugh my anxiety went out of the roof.....I was so quiet on the way home and I could not to my hubby any.....so I came here today while they are all at church this morning.....ugh just hate myself more now....for the shame...the lieing....the guilt....ugh.....
thanks for letting me rant and rave here this morning and unload....I do not have anyone to talk to right now....but you guys.....love you all

The thing is I know what you mean in pe I had a scar on my left arm and one girl who I'm quite good friends with said. What happend to your arm? Then I said oh that don't worry. But if you let people see the scars all they want to do is help you! If you hide them they won't know but soon find out. It's ok if you didn't want everyone to know. But it is advisable to get some one to see how badly you didn't it yourself because your were in pain. Don't hate yourself for lieing just because you didn't want everyone to know thats fair enough. But I reckon you should tell someone you can trust about this. I mean my besy friend was brave and told me and I told her that I use to cut myself. We both promise to stop it's not good and neither is it worth it. I know it ain't easy to stop yet tell someone so close to you. They might feel a bit upset but they will surport you through. You have me to talk too, if you want. Also the first step would to tell someone who you can trust then also ditch the thing you use to do it with. Really it's not helping at all. {{{{{Hope4me2}}}}}

Its yours to tell when your ready. When you feel safe and comfortable, you can tell if needed. I understand why you lied. At times there are private things that we are not ready to share. Please keep yourself safe. Do talk to your daughter about it though. Often children are taught to see problems but not talk about them which is unhealthy. You may want to explain why you didn't want to talk about it with your family. This will help her bring realness to the adult issues that she experiences inside and talk about her feelings.
