I got caught up in some intense self loathing. It was escalating so much that I chose to SI after many many months of not doing this. I also added another form of SI. I felt as if I hurt myself enough I could force the emotional pain to leave. Now I'm just depressed and sort of numb.
The pain was after therapy and had to do with a deep sense of self hatred, unlovability, hopelessness. It just all gets too hard sometimes. |

Hi Butterflying,
I'm not going to lecture you on how SI is bad and stuff because most people on this forum do it and I'm pretty sure everyone knows it's bad. I understand when you say it all just gets too hard sometimes. Would it maybe help to go back to therapy???

So you will tell your therapist how you felt after the session then?

I think when you tell your therapist, you should tell her/him how you felt, and ask for ways to prevent what has happened in the past. And if nothing else works, do something that is sothing to you, before, during, and after the session. It helps. Trust me.

I'm better, but I will tell my T all about it. I told him a long time ago that I would always be honest and I have been. It was like a storm hit and I couldn't stop it. Now I have to worry about my family seeing what I did. I don't like going backwards like this, but I will be able to go forward again.
I thought the soothing before, during, and after therapy was interesting. I'm not sure how to do that. I would like to though. |

Doesn't matter what it is, just as long as it calms the mind and body. For example I tap on myself on my knees, first the right then left, and then I repet several times, and it calms me down, sometimes. Just find something that works.

I don't think that you went backwards at all. You went to therapy and opened up and let some things out, that is moving forward. The coping that we do along the way, as long as we are still moving forward in therapy, well, I don't think that that coping is so bad.
