ive been self harming for a while now and im trying to stop but because of a verbally abusive relationship i was in and the constant thinking about something that happened to me as a child im finding it really hard i just want to stop but i keep find myself doin it

Maybe making a goal and rewarding yourself for not doing the behavior. could help.

Finding a Therapist will help, Good Luck

I wish I could help ....my wife used to cut herself years ago and ended up in the hospital. Then she stopped and it has been at least 17 years since she did this. Can you explain why you cut yourself? Is it guilt? I have no clue.

You are probably getting relief from the SI so it is a way to cope. Dealing with the issues that are causing you to need to SI is the way to stop SI ing.
