When I feel down and can't take the negative emotions. I get something to strangle myself with. I don't cut myself often but I do sometimes scratch myself. With strangling myself, I'm not doing anything bad to my body. I might feel like light headed but I don't do it for a long time. I might do it for a few minutes. I feel better when I have strangled myself. It's like all these negative emotions go away.

Oh happycheeks, I am so sorry you are feeling this way. I don't think it really matters what label we give it, strangling yourself is not the healthiest way to deal with emotions. Thankyou for sharing that here, do you have a T who you can also talk too? You do not deserve to be unhappy, you matter alot. Please keep safe. Soup

Don't worry. I will be okay. I know it's not good because I might pass out or something bad might happen to me by accident. I don't have a T. I don't attend the sessions anymore. I used to go but I didn't feel like going anymore. But I guess I could talk to someone about it. I need to deal with my emotions in a good way, I might need to distract myself while I'm having these thoughts. I am safe. I won't do anything stupid. It's only thoughts. I don't mean what I say when I say I want to hurt myself. I feel embarrassed and stupid for saying that I strangle myself and hurt myself sometimes. I'm sorry for being pathetic

I think the very best way of dealing with emotions is to talk about them, I know for me when I am having a tough time, although T has asked me to call - I can't because I have a phone phobia type thing - but I do write and send T e-mails and it does help me to express it rather than hold it in. You might pass out and then not be able to stop strangling yourself and die. This is dangerous.
Is it your mother who is making you unhappy? You deserve to be happy.

I don't do it for long to be able to hurt myself. My mother isn't making me unhappy at the moment. It's just other things getting to me.

I used to do this too after family found out about my s/h so I felt like I couldn't do it anymore so did that when I felt bad instead. For me I stopped doing it eventually, but only after I'd scared myself by half passing out and not being able to breathe. Please, I know that it seems like what you need to do, but please try not to, it's dangerous you could hurt yourself. Sannah's right you DO deserve to be happy! Is there anyone you can talk to irl about how your feeling if you don't want to go to sessions anymore ? If not a family member or friend or something? Xxx
