My GP turned up at my house today and marched me over to his surgery for a thorough check up. He talked all the way through, an hour I was there while others were waiting to be seen. All I could show for him was my contempt and it showed. I don't cut as much as I used to, instead I OD on painkillers on a daily basis hoping that I will slowly rot inside.

Everything was going right for me, one step away from fulfilling my dreams and one year on I'm still stuck in the same hole. And the sick thing is, I don't want it any other way. Its all I deserve for being such an evil person, rotten to the core. I don't recognize myself any more.

Wow, that's amazing, your GP actually coming to your house and taking you to the surgery! Perhaps we do have decent drs in the UK after all! (Are you with the NHS, or is it a private dr?)

He must be very concerned about you. I don't know why you think that you're bad. I don't think you are, but I can relate to it because I feel like I don't deserve to get better either, and that does keep me stuck. I'm trying to work through that. I hope that you can too. Do you have a therapist?

TC,
Rap

It sounds like you have a really dedicated doctor there...I can't say I've ever heard of anything quite like that before. Like Rap, I'm curious as to whether you have a therapist or counsellor? That really harsh negative thinking is probably a big part of what's keeping you stuck in that hole, and therapists are usually a lot better at helping you work through that than MD's.

I will have a therapist in a month or so when I begin psychotherapy. Ive also been through mid term counselling and see a psychiatrist once a month. I think it was a letter by him to my GP that prompted him into action and hes also known me since I was a child, that may have something to do with it too.
