I had been doing well for a while. I don't know how long because I try not to keep track, but now, my sleep is all screwed up again, and I have to start alternating meds and dealing with meds to try to fix the issue.
I am having major cutting urges again. I literally sit here and can picture myself cutting, and where, and how deep I would cut.... I shouldn't have to worry about this stuff... I have been in therapy for almost 6 years. I should be able to handle my life by now

If only it were that easy. I have plenty of things that i do that are capable of helping me feel better for a little while, while I'm doing them, but then when I am not doing them, I'm back to this.

If the solution for mental illness was do something to make yourself feel better, I think we'd all be cured.

Hang in there. It will pass, at least for a while.

I don't know if this will help you or even if you would like to try this but what I do with the urges is think they are not mine. So I sit there either reading or watching a movie or making dinner and view it as a malware on my harddrive that is bound to run its operation and cease working. It makes it feel easier to deal with.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Thanks for this!

I wish this day would end, I wish my life would end. I can't keep fighting day in and day out to feel something other than awful.
I can't sleep more than 5 hours at night, and then only get that much when I am really lucky. I can't handle the lack of sleep anymore.

Doing a little better so far today, but it's a restoril night so I won't get any sleep. No anxiety though, so that's a good thing

IT takes more than time to heal. i first started cutting when i was 15 and now i'm almost 27! You are doing all the right things so don't put yourself down. Stop being so hard on yourself and know that you are not alone! I get urges a lot and I too have been through therapy and what not. Talking about it and posting your thoughts and feelings is one of the best things you can do when you are having urges! Getting that out in the open provides somewhat of a release. I hope this helps you in some way and that you are doing okay. Know that people care about you! Hang in there and stay strong! Let me know how you are doing. Hugs!
