I have not cut for a while now, a year and then some... This is quite an accomplishment, but I am debating on doing it again, debating on whether it will help me be relieved... feel better... I want your opinion... I guess... Things are bothering me, money, a girl I like that isn't working, and I just don't see a huge point to life...

you have done a great job in quitting. congratulations. Part of recovery is dealing with temptation to start again. Just look at this as just another test of your recovery that you are going to pass.

Don't start again... then you have to go through all the pain of trying to quit again. Plus it not only hurts you it will hurt others around you.

Well, I guess you have to decide if you want to cut the rest of your life or not.

Like me, I love to cut and don't plan on ever quitting. But I know most people don't view cutting the same way I do...not at all.

Do you like the scars or people always asking you about them? Do you like hiding them (if you do)? Do you enjoy cutting in itself? These are just a few of the many questions that you have to ask yourself. One of the important questions I think is do you see anything wrong with cutting? Is there any moral value that you have that says it's wrong?

I'm the only person that I know of who thinks there's nothing wrong with it, but if you think there is then I'd suggest to keep resisting the temptation to cut.

I believe that cutting is an ok coping mechanism, so long as one takes precautions to keep healthy with it. I bashed myself up for years and years about it. I have been doing it like forever, and I can go years without doing it, but thats me.

I gave myself such grief about it, that it was worse than the cutting itself. Now, I try not to cut, but if I do, its ok - it gives me what i need.........
