Ok so not been on here for a long time now, I was on here every day trying to resist burning myself. The good news is I've managed to save myself. I've got a new job. And I've only relapsed once pouring a scolding kettle over my hand in a tantrum! I've not been tempted after that one.
The bad news is my anxiety is pretty high right now, so have came back on here to stay focused. And to hope that the anxiety don't lead back to self harming.

Good job going as long as you did without SI. It isn't easy to quit, but you are strong, and you can do it!
Thanks for this!

Yes but I keep reminding myself it will pass, I suffered with it on and off from the age of 17 as long as I don't lose my head I know I can beat it. I have too.

A chemical hormone in my body, that makes me react to things that have happened in my past, or I think that will happen in my future that I may not even beware I'm thinking of.

No... And after waiting for one for over 6 months I had finally stopped burning by myself. I thought that seeing some one would bring it back on.
I've seen one in the past, but was a long time ago for panic attacks and then again when I was self harming but, they see you for 6 weeks then think your ok!
Sometimes like the past few weeks I wish I did have one, as anxiety has been playing up and the itch to si has entered my mind.
But I refuse to be that girl. I've been on and off like this for years.
I will be fine because that's what I tell myself every day.

I used therapy to get to the roots of my anxiety and I'm not an anxious person anymore. What I found that caused my anxiety was low self worth, unhealthy boundaries, stored feelings, not living in the moment, not meeting my needs, unhealthy attachment, etc., so basically not being emotionally and mentally healthy. All of these things can be worked on and having the insight of a T really helps to fix these things.
