I just cut myself. (The last time I hurt myself was about 8&1/2 months ago.) Cutting myself helps me with the pain, (like it makes it go away). The sad part is I hurt myself over what someone said. Last night my ex-boyfriend and I said some mean things to each other. It really got to me and I don't know why. I can't stop crying and the pain hurt to much to deal with. I hate myself a lot that I cut myself.

PS. What should I do now?

Do you have to go to the ER?
Have you cleaned the wound?
Do you have a T or Pdoc that you can call tomorrow?
Can you take a short nap and "restart" your day?

i am sorry that you cut yourself after all this time, but one thing that my former therapist told me was that even it i relapsed after a long time, that one action does NOT erase the progress that you've made. remember that this recent cutting doesn't take away all the work you've done to not cut for 8.5 months. hang in there... sorry not much advice.

I am sorry for your pain. I hope you realize this one setback doesn't define who you are. Your character does, and your character said no for 254 days straight (roughly 8 1/2 months). That's a LOT of perseverance and self-discipline. You have some great qualities working to your advantage, which means there is hope. You cut before, but you got back on your feet and lived without it for a pretty long time. I'm not putting pressure on you or anything. I just hope you recognize how strong you are
