My best friend has threatened to lock me up in psych ward due to cutting again!!! Usually I cut on my thoughts but the past 3 days since I ruined 74 days I have been using a tweezers and cutting my wrist over and over again until I draw blood!! I am so embarrassed because I have been able to stay sober fir a little over 22 years but yet I cannot quit cutting!!!

I can't comment in a way that would be productive, so i won't.

I can say that I hear you and want to give you a very big hug! I'm sorry to hear that you are disappointed in your relapse and you are obviously very strong to have been sober for so long!

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!

I know it can be hard when you relapse but try to be gentle on yourself. Addictions are extremely hard to overcome and we all fall at times. Cutting, while also an addiction is a bit different. It is generally a way to manage stress and emotion. We can never remove those from our lives and so sometimes the urges are still there and we fall. But you can get back up again.

Do you remember some of the techniques that helped you stop last time? Things that helped to distract you or helped you manage the feelings that were leading you to cut? Is it possible to start using some of those again and see if they help?

I think part of the problem is that right now I really DO NOT want to quit nor do I care about slot!!! I talked to my therapist yesterday and she made me make a contract with her until today when I see her. We'll I never had to do that before and have no idea what it means if I break that contract, which unfortunately I did last night!!!!!
