I feel like giving up I'm so close to almost ruining my progress just to get some relief from this depression and anxiety. I don't know why I'm posting this, I just don't know what to do, it would be so easy for me to just cut, just once. I know it would be more though, I wouldn't be able to stop, the urge is so intense, I feel so restless and agitated. None of my coping strategies are working right now, I have an appointment with my pdoc next week, I don't know how I'm going to make it 4 more full days. That seems easy but it's hard to get through a single hour when I feel like this.

I know it must be extremely difficult right now but hang in there. I promise the urges will pass again. Things will get easier. Are there any other coping strategies/distractions you can think about trying? Even if they only distract you for 10 minutes at a time and you need to jump between activities it can help the time pass.

Take it an hour, or even a minute at a time if that is what you can manage.

Thinking of you both Please feel free to contact me if you want to talk.

I actually want to cut tonight and do pills. I have bandage cutting scissors that I know can cut well, and thinking about using ice to numb to cut deeper. I'm trying to distract myself with homework and watching some shows on tv. I just can't escape the way I'm feeling.

@Mazing - Right now the one thing that helps is sleeping, when I sleep I can't think of it so it helps. I know that's not a good coping skill but it's the main one that works right now.

@AmyFed07 - Please don't hurt yourself It's good you're trying to distract yourself, I hope you can get through this

Hi, Have you tried other things that you haven't yet tried in order to get past the urge not to hurt yourself? Some things such as Prayer, walking , talking to a friend, going to a movie? All those things are temporary, but it could get you through a rough time. What sort of things helped in the past for you? How long has it been since you last hurt yourself? Can you Please contact someone before you hurt yourself? you can email me if you want. let me know on this website. Do you know what might of set off this negative feelings again? If it gets worse contact your Doctor or Therapist Please! Your not alone, I will pray for you!

If sleeping is what gets you through at the moment that's ok.

Amy - those are some good coping skills. How are you doing now?
Thanks for this!

I ended up cutting last night but right now I'm okay. I met with the crisis therapist today and I'm seeing her again on Monday and my therapist again on Tuesday.
