I know this is kinda messed up but..I've stopped cutting..and I started something even worse. Summer of '13 I started to starve myself and abuse laxatives. I told myself I would never cut again because it didn't solve anything. I dont plan on cutting EVER again...When I noticed my lack of eating and I was constantly on the scale to see if I lost weight and I would purge and it was horrible. Still is. I know its pretty ****ed up that I'm basically substituting my cutting with starvation and all this other sh♥t. I put this under SI because if I'm upset I will literally not eat for hrs.

Starving yourself is considered a form of self harm. This sounds very dangerous. Maybe you should ask in the eating-disorder forum? They might be able to help you more.

I think cutting and starving yourself are different but the same in so many ways. You might think you are doing them for different reasons, but I think it all stems from the same problem. I would definitely seek help for this, though, you could be putting your life at risk. Know you are not alone, I have times where I don't care what I eat and I eat as much and whatever I want. Then I starve myself because I feel like I don't deserve food, and I like the lightheaded feeling. While I might not be doing it for weight issues, they are on the back of my mind too.

I SH on and off. I found that doing this, gave me some sort of pain but it doesn't actually harm me and it is quite healthy!
Wall Push Ups Try it at least. And when you do try, your in control. You can make it hurt as little or as much as you like by holding your position half way for as long as you can. It also works for anger. It's better then SH and other forms of self harm. It probably won't work for everyone because what does? But it might work, so maybe just try it to see? Also, this is my first time admitting it. When people ask I usually deny deny deny.

I agree with above - it is different but seems to stem from the same concerns and emotions you are having. It can also be very dangerous for your health. If you can I really would suggest speaking to a doctor just to check that it isn't doing any damage physically.
It is quite common to have eating concerns alongside self-injury (or swap between the two) as it comes from similar issues and needs for control and release. As someone mentioned too, it might be worth looking through the Eating Disorders forum to see what others have been through and how they have worked through it ![]() |

If you stop eating when you've become upset, then my advice is - be aware that this is your response, then plan to eating something healthy anyway.
