Sometimes it is like it is inevitable and the torment of putting it off, is just not worth the effort. How do you get out of this mindset?

Hi Soup friend,

I hear you.
Sometimes I feel the same way...and you know better than anyone that these feelings come in waves, and that we have to ride them out until enough time passes.
We have to distract or reach out and communicate/connect or get out of the house or whatever it takes..put on some comedies or play some rock and roll or tackle that dang closet that needs picking up or vacuum the heck out of your flat or take a walk in the rain, or take a drive, grab a train and ride it for a bit...whatever you can think of.
Lately, charcoal sketching has really helped me...something about the tactile drawing and rubbing and smearing and getting some anger out on paper helps..images instead of words or thoughts.
Your emotional pain and anxiety peaks...and you have to remember times recently when you didn't feel this way and that you have a choice, and to do nothing...to not sh is just a bigger choice. I am so sorry that you are hurting, but right this minute, you are safe, so stay there until you aren't thinking of the future or future results..
I'm holding your hand...please hang on and DO something to change the path you feel like you can't get off...
I'm so glad you reached out...
Gentle hugs,
Wysteria Blue

Thank you WB, your post made me cry, which l think is a good thing. l get so distant from people, l Iook at my signature and can't believe l wrote that. l know l have travelled this path so many times. l get confused about which part of my head is the one to listen to. The bit of me that does shut down, keeps up barriers, doesn't let anyone get too close has always kept me safe. The bit that is trying to do things differently just seems to be placing me in painful situations.

But you are right, the time will pass and then there will be calm again.

Thanks for being there tonight. Soup
