I just can't stop punching myself in the head when people hurt me. I don't know where to channel the pain or how to deal with it I just don't want to be hurt anymore

Hello iPhone: I'm sorry you have gotten into this habit. I obviously don't know the full extent of what you're doing. But I want to warn you that taken to extremes hitting one's head can, over time, cause some serious problems which might not occur to you until they happen. I'm not sure what to suggest as an alternative... perhaps beat up on a pillow or something. But while a few occasional punches to the head may not have any lasting effect, done too often over a period of time, they can do some significant damage. Please try to find some alternative way of expressing your hurt.

I'm sorry What helps me is to distract myself with various things. I like to take a walk, and say "I won't self harm now, I'll walk, if after the walk and at 7 PM I still have the urge, then I'll do it". The point of this is that while walking (or exercising, or cleaning...) usually you'll be able to distract yourself and you'll think less about hurting yourself. I get so focused on the activity that I forget about hurting myself, I don't think about it. So choose to release your energy in some activities. Others can be colouring something, or drawing, writing, dancing, cleaning, reading...maybe breathing techniques and meditation if they interest you

I'm so sorry to hear that. maybe you can tey doing something loving toward yourself and your poor head instead of hatefully punching yourself in your own head.
