Y'all,
Hey there I was wondering if anyone ever talked to their family about they self-injury? My Dad knows about it a little and stuff. I get invitited to go to my oldest brother house for dinner or whatever it may be. They only talked to me for awhile and then rest of the time it is like I am not really there. Then I feel like I am push out of the picture and get so upset guess. I then go back to my apartment and if it bugs me, I cut myself.

How does one tell their family the reason sometime they don't show up for stuff is because sometimes they feel left out.
Thanks for any help.

One of my 4 sibs knows i SI. She is sort of OK with it, depending on her mood. Sometimes she tries to help and sometimes I get called a drama queen. Need help talking to family(possible trigger)

I'm the youngest by a bunch (8 to 13 years) and I feel left out a lot. My mom tends to harass the others for me, but mostly, if I don't want to go, I just say no and don't feel like I have to tell them why.

Dunno if that helps any. Need help talking to family(possible trigger)

I told my mom i cut (during the time period when it had stopped) and it really didn't go over well. One day she told me she finally understood it - she watched it on Oprah and understiood why i had cut. Then asked "You don't any more do you????? So i don't tell her any more.

my dad found out and called me a moron and made me feel like a complete freak (he said, "you don't know anybody else who cuts themselves, do you?") and said I used it as a way to make me feel sorry for myself (?)... it didn't go very well.

Thanks for the help. I can relate to Silver Queen. My dad doesn't call me a moron or anything when I cut. However, when I don't answer his question the way he wants. He starts to yell and scream at me. I am doing little better know being on meds. I am taking Seroquel.
Thanks again
John
