It has happened on several occasions that I cut and then the next day I really can't remember where it came from. Yesterday I saw the bandage on my thigh and I knew that I had cut the night before because that was evidence... but as hard as I tried to recall the process-- taking out the blade, doing the cutting, putting on the bandages, how I felt, what I did after-- I have no recollection.

Then there are night like last night in which I was totally conscious of it and can remember every single thing that took place.

I used to do this as well...but I'd also do other more serious things to myself on top of the cutting.

You are not alone...I believe many who have been abused may go through this as well.

Hang in there.

I do the same with burning sometimes. I usually remember, but if I am in a really really bad state then I don't remember and it can be frustrating.

I have tried asking those inside and figured out that one of my littles is the one that does the SI.

Can you talk to T? I think it's really important to figure out why this is happening.

Dissociative cutting? Dissociative cutting?

Yes, T knows about it. I will discuss it more with him in session. Also, dissociation doesn't have to be something that happens only if someone was abused. I was never abused. It is, however, important to find out why sometimes I cut and I don't dissociate, and other times I do.
