Everyone reacts to emotional pain in a different manner. SI is a way to cope with immense pain but does not mean it is less nor more than someone elses. It does mean that someone is trying to cope with something very difficult. Maybe you can find someone you feel safe with to share with if you like. A therapist would be a good person to share with. A councelor. A preacher are just a few examples. I am glad you reached out here.

You can not really put a "quantity" on the amount of pain someone is in. Nor can you compare pains between people. What may be painful for one person, may not for another. People have different levels of sensitivity, different levels of toleration, etc.
SI is a a way of expressing pain. A very serious and harmful way of expressing pain. That is why it is important to tell T. |

SI means that you have not yet learned better ways to cope with your pain.
