I need to vent...so I'm on 3 vistarils a day, 2 klonopins, and now I'm taking 1/2 a pill of paxil at night (the doc is weaning me off of it). They diagnosed me with anxiety/panic disorder and PTSD. It's not that I'm exactly a "sex addict," but I *do* like to "take care of business" every night before I go to bed and have done so for years. My husband isn't really interested in sex, which is fine, whatever. I think it helped me relax afterwards so I could sleep.

What used to take 3-5 minutes now takes close to an hour and a half. My psychiatrist & therapist both agree it's the medication. Since I haven't had any major "freakouts" in over a week, I think I'm ok. But this business of not being able to achieve orgasm - even an unsatisfying one - is downright depressing, no thanks to the antidepression pills I take.

I had unorgasmia for three a half years due to antipsychotics. What helped was simply reducing the dose in half. I am now able to come alone and with a partner.
Thanks for this!

Have you tried using a vibrator? may sound obvious but there's usually nothing that can keep me from achieving orgasm that way. If not, maybe in the shower could help?
Thanks for this!

I'm having similar issues, and I'm on nothing. I'm a bit of an addict, so I guess it's more masterbation. Sex helps me relax, kinda disassociate a bit, and I prefer taking care of it myself. I get too emotional otherwise. Doesn't matter what I do, vibrator, sex toys, shower, doesn't happen. Maybe I've done it so much I'm desensitized to it...I don't know.
Thanks for this!

Thanks for the input, guys...
I've recently resorted to using vibrators (because doing it manually leaves my fingers cramped up and useless), and even then it still takes close to an hour. I am officially out of double-A batteries, I think I've got maybe 2 days of life left in the only one that works.
I'm weaned off of the paxil completely now, so that's supposed to help. I think a lot of it is psychosomatic with me...one of those, "if I can't have it, then I need it that much MORE" sort of things.
*sigh* Eventually I'll get my, uhh, 'mojo' back. In the meantime, I just hope I don't ruin things physically with battery-operated toys.

Paxil killed my ability to orgasm. I too first noticed it was taking longer and long to orgasm. It was the sole reason I stopped taking it.
