So there are psychics.

Psychics get money for their services. It does not mean that people who seek the services of psychics get anything from those services. But they believe, and it is enough for them to make a donation to psychics.

If people are led to believe that they have sex addiction and need help, they might very well make a donation to the author of the article you quoted.

The guy in the article says that he is a "Certified Sex Addiction Counselor" so there must be some body that certifies addiction counselors.

Then does not mean much.

Why?
There is also

American Association of Psychics and Mediums
American Psychic directory. The best psychics in the USA offering psychic reading

So let us see what the APA (psychiatry) says so far.

So far it has not put in sexual addiction into DSM-V (the main book according to which people are diagnosed).

If it ever puts in into some future DSM-VI or higher, it would require something severe to qualify for a diagnosis. Say, a person cannot stop masturbating at work and loses his job through that. You are not masturbating at school. You are masturbating in the privacy of your own room. So you should not be reading about sex addiction. You should be spending your time more productively than you are now - right now you are reading articles by questionable authors about a disease that has not yet been recognized and if it ever gets recognized, you would not meet the diagnostic criteria for it. So you are wasting your time.

What tiny bit of progress we seemed to have made recently has been reversed. You sort of started becoming more logical and then you listed 5 things and said that you were worried about those 2 things. ??? how is that logical???

To sum up, I think you have problems with reasoning and logic and do not have problems with porn other than that you are bored because you do not spend enough time playing sports, with friends, etc. To the extent that you see yourself having a problem with porn, you are wasting your time thinking whether it has bad side effects because even if it were to have bad side effects, the knowledge of those side effects would not make you stop. And, you do not need to stop - you need to diversify your activities and that diversification would lead to your decreasing the amount of time you watch porn as a collateral benefit.

I wish you luck and hope that someone would help you get a clearer mind one day or that you would help yourself.
i didn't post anything about psychics.

Have you taken SAT? SAT requires understanding of analogies. What is your score if you have taken it?

i have already taken it. my score is average. if i had not masturbated the night before, i would have gotten a higher score.
then again, i cannot beat myself up on it anymore, because most teenagers my age are going through this too, and no matter how much i try to stop something that's impossible at my age, it's going to come back to haunt me until i decide to just let it go.

I do not know about the math part. I cannot assess you in the math department because you did not do math on the threads. I do have enough skill to assess you because many years ago I was a math tutor and prepped kids for SAT, but I do not have enough material.

I can tell you the following in regards to standardized tests:

Your gaps in logical reasoning, until filled, would prevent you from getting high scores on LSAT and GMAT, because these tests contain questions that you would not be able to answer correctly. So that would prevent you from getting admitted to top law schools or MBA programs.

GRE no longer has a logic part. I am not up to date on GRE. Maybe they assess the ability to reason based on an analytical writing component. You probably would have difficulties with analytical wriiting.

All of it is too soon to discuss though, because you first need to go to college.

Hopefully you will be introduced to critical thinking there.

Also, you have another very real problem - you are unappreciative.

This problem will not impact your test scores, but will impact your future relationships.

Masturbation to porn is unlikely to impact your future relationships unless you try to make your relationships follow the script from porn. You need to be a complete idiot to do that, though, and you are not a complete idiot, so you should have the ability to tell fantasy from reality.

Being unappreciative will make your future partners grow resentful and eventually might make them leave you for good.

The ability to feel and express gratefulness is one of the most key abilities in a human being.

All standardized tests are meant to trick you, but the ways in which they try to trik you are predictable and the number of such ways is finite. So you can learn about these tricks and learn to see through them and avoid biting the bait. For that, you need to prep and practice. Abstaining from masturbation will not help you learn to avoid biting the bait. Unless, of course, you believe in magic.

The problem is that you have not expressed gratitude when you should have expressed it. To be ungrateful and unappreciative, you just need to show lack of gratitude. Reread the threads and find out how you could have done better. That would be a useful exercise for you.

i don't think that i have been ungrateful. i mean, i don't give hugs or thanks very often on this site, but that does not make me ungrateful. i define ungrateful as being unappreciative, and not giving any thanks when it should be expected from me. however, in this case, giving hugs or thanks is optional, so if nobody ever expresses it to me, I would not mind.

It is true that being grateful is optional.

Most things are optional. Love definitely is. So if you limit yourself to strictly mandatory stuff, you will not go far.

Many people have tried to help you.

Yesterday, I gave you an exhaustive list of things you need to do to have good skin. What I did for you was optional.

what makes you think that i don't appreciate the help. i do take some of it to heart, but sometimes i may seem kind of ungrateful. to be honest, that's not the case.
Thanks for this!

if you ejaculate, you produce sperm - so, you are being productive

On a less linguistic note, your main problem is that you force yourself to feel guilty.

You should try masturbating while thinking that it is a neutral activity, for three months. Then, you should try masturbating while thinking that it is a beneficial activity, for another three months. Then, after you are done with these trials, you can assess how you are doing and decide on your next steps. Until you are done with these trials (and three months is the bare minimum to get any significant data), you will be haunted by the problem of self-fulfilling prophecy (you identified the problem yourself, and you had good insight when you did). All the unusual patterns that you seem to have observed, such as the impact of masturbating on day X on the performance in math on day X+1, are completely MEANINGLESS unless and until you deal with the issue of self-fulfilling prophecy.

I feel that I have spent enough time trying to help you, so for now I will put your userid on my ignore list and schedule a reminder in my calendar for six months from now. When I get the reminder email, I will remove your userid from the ignore list and check back with you on how you are doing.

best!
