Because of dental work, I was on sevral courses of antibiotics and as a result got a yeast infection.

This happened coincidally after I had a good time with Dane, my partner.

Scientifically, I know that yeast infections are either from antibiotics or maybe sometimes (not always) from s*x, but I heard echoes from my past that said, "See, Billi, this is what happens when you feel good. Something bad happens."

As I stated before, I am 42 and still struggling with old brainwashing about my s*x*****y.

Don't listen to the echoes. Are you taking anything for the yeast infection? I know there is a pill the doctor can prescribe for it.

I understand about the antibiotics and yeast infections. It doesn't happen to me but to my husband. He gets an yeast infection if he has to take mega doses of antibiotics. Thanks to him, I have learned a yeast infection doesn't have to be just in your private area. He had one that developed on his arms and on his head. His wound care specialist was shocked. She didn't understand about the blisters he had developed after taking several rounds of antibiotics. She said it looked like yeast coming out of them, and then she smelled it on a cotton swab and confirmed that is was. She went on the basis, if it looks like and smells like, it is. The medication cleared it up.

Just remember life has its ups and downs. Take care of yourself.

I needed to hear this from someone else.

thank you so much.

I still have to fight it.

It's also in my digestive tract because every time I eat, I have to run to the bathroom.

My kind roommate, (who is into science instead of religion, by the way) gave me the rest of his acidophilus so I can try to replenish the "good" bacteria.

ty again,

Billi

Billi,

DO NOT listen to those echoes or voices. Having a yeast infection is very normal and common. Ignore the negative voices. You didnt do anything wrong. Just an FYI - if you increase your intake of yogurt (eating it) this will help fight off future yeast infections. I'm not too aware of the statistics and role that intercourse has on increased yeast infections but in general, I know I get them often. They hurt and are annoying but that's about the extent that they are harmful. Just curious, when you feel in pain in general in any part of your body (like a headache or toothache) do you blame yourself OR is this only self blame when it has to do with pain or discomfort in your "private" area? This may be something you would want to explore with a licensed professional. Best of luck!!
