I have MDD and I am on Wellbutrin XL, Zoloft, Klonopin, as well as Depakote for migraines. I have also had two GYN surgeries in Dec. and Feb. After both surgeries, my sexual appetite returned.
Now, I WANT to have sex, but I am completely unable to climax. This brings me a ton of frustration but I try to pass it off as nothing to my husband. My depression seems to be improving {well, this week has been good at least} but I CANNOT climax. Does anyone know if any of my meds could be causing this, or just the MDD itself? I'm crazy over it. ![]() |

Sorry PurplePaisley,
That is why I stopped taking Zoloft. That is a side of Zoloft that can cause some trouble because your desire is there but need cannot be met and it is too frustrating. When I stopped to Zoloft and it wore off, I was able to be satisfied. Hope that helps |

Meds could be causing this.... I have severe recurring MDD and the only time I had difficulty "getting there" was when I was on depakote, for pseudo-seizures. I am on klonopin right now, and have no difficulties. Zoloft didn't give me difficulties either, but everyone is different. The few times that I haven't been able to get there, was very frustrating. You get so tired and worn out, and no satisfaction. So i understand... Also, I have never had an orgasm during sex. But i can make myself get there no problem. so if its during sex you are having that problem, then that is really normal, only a small percentage of women can actually climax during intercourse. boyfriend and i get me there by outer stimulation after he has gotten there during intercourse all the time, that is our normal routine LOL
