I wear very long Indian skirts embellished with mirror bits are worn to impress myself, other women including my female T, those-men-who-appreciate-the-creative-expression-part-of-clothes, and... to be in harmony with the universe!

I am not a guy but I will venture an opinion: she does not look better or worse with or without make-up; she looks different.

Without makeup, she has a lot of raw sexual attractiveness.

With makeup, she loses the raw sexual attractiveness but gains the ability to, say, sell shampoo - her hair looks very professional.

As someone with naturally curly hair that looks totally different if straightened, I can add that the two pictures above are not just "without makeup" versus "with makeup". It is also "curly" versus "straight" and "curly" vs "straight" is like two different worlds. Not one better than the other but just totally different.

I think the question as asked is impossible to answer, because faces are different. A face with light eyelashes needs make-up to accentuate what otherwise would not show - there is an objective need for make-up.

I have long black eyelashes and do not wear mascara. My younger daughter has very long black eyelashes and does not wear mascara. My older daughter has sparse short light eyelashes (+ blondish sparse eyebrows, too, despite having long dark brown hair) and does wear mascara. Facial features are different and therefore objective needs are different - how can you answer this question with respect to "all women" - as it was asked?

I agree. Usually, for me, dressing up, or just dressing nice and presentable and wearing make-up ARE to leave myself feeling better.

Jeans is my style!! And right now, it's shorts season. I do have some long flowing summer dresses, and I just appeal to my height and athleticism.

Taylor Swift looks like a completely different person without make up, and I don't mean that in a good way, either. In our society, women are told that they HAVE to wear makeup. They are very rarely told to embrace their natural beauty (without the usage of makeup, anyway) because that just isn't good enough. From this, women are crafting completely new faces with cosmetics, soon forgetting the beauty of their bare skin and feeling ashamed when they face it. Makeup can be really wonderful. If can raise confidence and help people express themselves. But makeup is makeup, and that is all it is. We should not forget about the face underneath, even if the powered, lined and glossed one "looks better" or "gets guys".

So basically it's being covered in chemicals to colour, subjected to constant heating to style it, and then subject to more chemicals to keep it all in place.

How healthy is it possible for that hair to be?

I think she looks better with makeup. She looks so strange without it because the colors she chooses are so bold that she doesn't even look the same without makeup. That's when you know you're wearing too much makeup if you look completely unrecognizable.

That's why I don't wear makeup. I got a makeover once from Mary Kay and I thought I looked worse with makeup. It was too bold for me. Every once and a while I'll wear a light eyeshadow or contacts, but guys should like me the way I am, and I'm not someone who wears makeup or contacts.

About the hair, she looks like she has the same type of hair as my friend. She is rather kind to her hair but it has always been coarse and with thick hairs. The only thing that softened it has been hair dye. Kind of backwards.

Idk if you're asking me this question or everyone? I just responded to another poster who wanted an example of minimal makeup and nude tones look the most natural. Women have been enhancing their faces since the Cleopatra days and before that. Its up to the woman really and hopefully her /her partner can find a common ground. Whether a woman wears it or not isn't important to me. My oldest daughter has spectacular dark lashes but she still likes a bit of mascara but still her lashes look better than women who wear mascara. What bugs me in todays society is the mass lip enhancing - I can understand a little if a woman has super thin or barely any lips.....but these huge lips looks ridiculous on a face that's not structured for duck lips.

Also in the past, men wore makeup or face paint. Just saying.

It was also originally only men who wore high heels.

Women, they've taken our heels, they've taken our trousers, and they moan if we take their skirts - typical!

I am totally with on the mass lip enhancing. Such lips do look pathetic on a face that is not structured for them.

I never wore makeup until now that I turned 30 , and now I apply it as another method to strengthen my confidence a bit. I use only very little though, because I don't want to actually earn my confidence from the makeup. It also doesn't change my features much, because generally I'm a very honest person and couldn't bear wearing a face I cannot entirely call mine.
But everything depends on the person and what she believes to be appropriate for herself.

I decided to try wearing contacts and makeup today because my outfit looks amazing and it would look better if I fixed my hair and wore makeup. My makeup is just light eyeshadow, light foundation/blush, and lipstick, but it makes me look so different without going overboard! My eyes stand out and look very blue and vibrant.

So it's not a bad thing to wear makeup, but people tend to not wear makeup correctly and that's why I don't like it.

With me it's the eyes. They're large and green, but my lashes are a bit sparse, and I never use mascara because it irritates me, so I make sure to use liner. Then I put on plum-colored shadows, dark near the lids and lighter near the brow, to make the green stand out. My lips, I downplay with a shade close to natural. I don't look complete if I leave them undone, but I don't go dark. The reason for this is the natural pigmentation of my teeth. No matter what, they're not going to be gleaming white, even if I've just had them polished at the dentist's. And that's after I quit smoking six years ago. The hygienists say my teeth are as white as I'm able to get them. Only veneers will make them any whiter, and that's $$ I don't have. I've made the mistake of wearing dark lipstick before, and it just makes my teeth look very yellow next to my lips. If I wear a more natural shade, my teeth don't look white, but they also don't look like I never brush them.

I don't wear makeup.....I am usually running so late for whereever I'm going that I don't have the time to put make=up on also.....I'm usually doing good if I have time for a shower.

Also don't color my hair for the same reason....no time to spend doing things like that....& want to focus my time on things that really count in life.....

But for those it makes feel better about themselves.....go for it but in a natural way.
