I've got to know this person recently (it hasn't been that long) and was wondering whether there any of guys/girls out there who have dated someone with a STD (not HIV)?
Could you share your experiences and let me know what it was like?

I've no personal experience. I think there's some sites out there for those coping? There might be info for those interested in learning to live with a new reality on those sites? You might need to conduct some web searches for that.

I don't have direct experience, but my daughter does. She's only been with 3 guys her whole life, but she caught herpes from #2. She's now happily married. The key was her being up front and her and her husband understanding the disease and how to deal with it. Proper precautions, watching for outbreaks and using protection have made their life just fine and if you asked them, they probably would even have to think about it since it's such a non-issue for them.

So I think the key is being up front and honest and working together to make things work out.
