***I guess maybe triggering for some***
Let me state plainly I've never been sexually abused and I've never ever had sexual feelings towards any children.

Why then do I have fantasies that involve a child (usually a boy) getting punished by a fictitious older man who then rapes them? Does anyone else have fantasies that involve a child getting beaten?

I'm a good person who would never intentionally hurt anyone so why do I think about this stuff when...er.... masturbating?

Too embarrassed to bring it up with my T. Haven't managed to talk about sex yet.

Thanks in advance for responses...

Hello chattering_ghost: Welcome to PsychCentral... from the Skeezyks! May you find the time you spend here to be of benefit.

I don't know why you have the fantasies you are struggling with. Personally my entire being is filled with thoughts & urges I don't understand. Some of it I have tried to share in the past to no avail. Some of it would be so humiliating I could never share it.

I enjoy watching TV programs, as well as reading about, current research into the working of the brain. One thing that keeps coming up is that much more of who we are, & what we do, is controlled by areas of the brain to which we have no conscious access than we would typically imagine. So perhaps there are things stored in non-conscious areas of your brain that are causing you to have this fantasy. Just a thought...

Under any circumstances, as long as your fantasy remains a fantasy, that's all it is... just a chimera... nothing to be worried about. Best wishes...

IMHO everyone has "sick" fantasies. I feel this would only be sick if you would act on this fantasy.

Maybe the fantasy is based on the bigger picture of power play which is extremely popular. The fantasy of taking power away & using it. The fantasy of young vs old. I don't think you have to narrow it to one fantasy, but maybe it carries more significance than you think if you give it more space to expand & unfold.
Best of luck!
Again....just my opinion.

Edit
Hey it took a lot of guts to post this & talk about it!! Very brave of you. Thank you

This has been bothering me for some time but I literally breathed a sigh of relief after reading both your replies. I thought there must be something very wrong with me but what you said about 'power play' makes sense and that it can't be 'sick' if it's just a fantasy.

Also, I agree, Sleezyks - it helps to keep asking questions and learning about how the human brain works.

Thanks

Based on what I have seen online, rape fantasies are rather common, but if you are not actually raping someone else, what is their harm?

Okay, that sounded rather cold. Anyways, happy...fantasizing...

By the way, I also agree with Patagonia's response.

I have all manner of fantasies.
Some I can play out.
Others are dangerous, better left in my mind only.

What is the harm?

It's a sick fantasy. Period.

Everyone has sick fantasies of some sort. Mine are BDSM, torture, rape, gay men/shipping (I am a girl) to name a few... I've gotten in big trouble here by sharing my past obsessions, I've been told I'm sick and disgusting, so my advice for you is that some things should be kept for people you trust and to be careful about the extent of what you post here.
