well after about half a dozen relapses, I have gone 12 days without any form of pornography in my life...I am continuing to do phone sessions with a recovering sex addict and planning on attending my first SA meeting if I can get over the phobia

After 10 years of marriage (strained to say the least) my wife has admitted the last week she has felt "true love" for the first time in many, many years...I have learned to be more caring, intimate, spiritual, and more of a husband than just a married guy

I have a ways to go before I can truly say I'm cured of pornography...I had no idea how much destruction this stuff can do not only to a marriage but to my own self...I don't plan to preach to anyone so if you enjoy pornography all I can say is its your life and your journey....mine ended up in the toilet so to speak

Congratulations Brain on seeking solutions and finding a freedom from the shackles of addiction..

You are an example for us...

Brian,

Good for you. I know it will be a struggle but it is worth the effort.

I have never been a porn fan so I really don't know the hold it has on people.
I do know that it is a big money industry that exploits everyone involved and addicted to it.

I am glad to read that you and your wife are doing better.
I have been married to my wife for 36 years and I can say that it is better now than it ever was. We have had a bump in the road recently but, I think we are past that now.

Best wishes to you.

Brian, Congrats and good luck and positive outlets from porn, and hoping you don't give up and kudos to the marriage and your spouse noticing a change, 12 days is very good, think of it as picking up the first drink for an alcoholic, I have had porn issues and have been tempted, yet remind myself of the destruction it leads too. wishing you and your battle of porn to be easier and better as the days go by, one day at a time. blessings kk101

Sorry to hear of the relapse, yet it shows courage to post it and not hide it, admire your honesty and courage to seek support on the relapse.

Brian if this helps at all , and Im not justifying anything, I am a recovering SA aswell, there history of imagery go back a long way. I think on my road to recovery, that the body is a beautiful thing to look at, and that takes the being so hard on myself thought away. ANYway the history, over seas, in other countries there are beautiful imagages of naked bodies everywere, all over italy, all shapes and sizes. If I feel a relapse comeing on I look at the different beautiful images histroy gave us. Wanting to seek imagination and fantacy has been around seen forever. pornography has been around for many years. Ours is alittle over the top. modern day. well lets say they perverted the crap out of it. But dont be ashamed that you want to seek a beautiful imAgery of naked bodies. artist paint the body every day. When people pervet it, like anything else then its a problom. Im a ex-sex addict, try looking at different art images, Its helped me
